the best bundle for the cheapest price, get it before its gone!
this bundle is awesome, 500 gigs? awesome, blue ray player capable? awesome, the last of us? awesome all in all this bundle was pretty darn cheap for all of this the game itself has a GREAT storyline, not just shoot all zombies because of a virus, like RE, its got more of a walking dead type storyline, the characters develope at a steady pace and you get a feel for all of the characters, even have a bit of emotion for some, i personally felt bad for afew this game gets sad, happy funny and just plain awesome, as for the 500 gig HD, im really enjoying it, ive put afew movies on it, you can even connect another external HD (i have a 1 TB back up drive) and the online features are awesome as well yes, this is the super slim version but its small enough to give you more space in your entertainment center i personally like the design of the ps3 super slim ive had it for about a month or so with no problems, it hasent overheated, but i suggest maybe putting it near somewhere where the ps3s vent isent covered so it has space for air to curculate i also love the fact that the wireless controller can be charged with the usb cable that you plug into the system, then disconnect the controller when its full it recharges but there is no battery to replace, its probibly a small battery in the controller itself that you dont have to replace(no compartment to open to get the battery out) so if your interested in this bundle, for the price as well as the HD space and awesome game, i suggest you get this now while its this cheap (or untill it stops selling)

advertised as professionally refurbished... very clearly not, had to return it the next day
I would like to start this with the preface that I did a WHOLE lot of research about price ranges, compared sellers, and made sure that I was purchasing a machine that was being fullfilled by Amazon so that if this happened, I would be able to easily return my item. SO, I bought this machine a few days ago. It arrived yesterday, and immediately began having issues. When I hooked it up and turned it on the first time, it would not even go to the main menu. I had to force it into Safemode and then restore it to its factory settings. So, that was my first clue, since I would assume that one of the first things you would do when "refurbishing" a machine is to reset it to factory... Yeah, so, no, that wasn't done. So fine, I reset it and began getting the system software updated. I am primarily interested in older games, so I got it all hooked up with the PS store and downloaded a couple of games and installed them. During the download of one of the games, the fans kicked on and it sounded like it was trying to emulate a jet engine. I know that is a thing that the fans CAN do, but I hadn't heard them kick on AT ALL before that. Not a good sign, but we forge gayly on thinking "well, lets at least get something going, see how it does." Fast forward to today, since I wasn't able to actually play it last night. Get the game all booted up and its running fine. The fans have come on a little bit, but nothing too bad. Then I get to a boss battle and WOOSH, the fans spin up, the fans immediately stop again, and the whole thing just shuts off. SO, yeah, I don't know if its a bad fan, dust, a bad fan controller, etc. And I don't really care. Could I crack open the case and potentially fix it, yes. Do I want to trust that this is the only problem it has, NO! The issue is that I specifically went with one that cost a little more because it was being sold as a PROFESSIONALLY REFURBISHED machine. I am so deeply annoyed at this point, I don't even really know what to do. I am returning the console, and waiting for my reimbursement at this point.

Great product, great customer service!
The PS3 System, Controller, and The Last of Us game all came in "like-new" condition! At first I misread the website description and didn't get the game, so I requested a return. I got a notice that I would get a response from the seller within 2 business days, it came less than 45 minutes! Long story short, they clarified that I received the correct PS3 system, sincerely apologized about the game and gave me a tracking number showing when the game was sent out. Their customer service was great, I'm so happy and excited about my purchase with Birdie's Games, I would definitely order from them again!!!

It's a playstation.
I wanted to play GTA V and it does that well enough. Last of Us seems like a good game. They always advertise the ps3 standing up but you have to open the top cover to load the disk, so laying it flat is the best way to go. If you ever used a Nintendo or a Genesis or a Xbox or a Playstation 2, it's pretty much the same thing as far as how you store the thing. It comes with one wireless controller. It doesn't come with an HDMI cable. You can surf the web if you're connected to the internet, but it's a chore to type anything into a search engine using the controller. You can transfer music, photos and video files to the hard drive using a flash drive. Downloading anything from the Playstation store is really slow if you connect to the internet using the wifi. Looks like ethernet cable is the way to go. The ps3 has a huge library of games and most of them are cheap somewhere online. Most games on Amazon are between 15 and 20 bucks. I'd say right now a ps3 is a bigger bang for your entertainment buck than a ps4 due to the lack of games for the ps4. I'm happy with my purchase.

FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was my first gaming console ever that solely belonged to me and I'm 22 years old. Not only is this sad since I love gaming but wonderfully awesome because I was finally able to afford one on my own. When I got my PS3 I was wary because sometimes the gaming systems don't turn out the was you expect it. But I must include that when I opened my perfectly conditioned PS3 box I was laughing like a maniacal genius screaming "It's all mine! Bwahahahahahaha!" Besides my reaction I took a while to see how my PS3 worked before I wrote a review. Not only did I get a great price but I got the game "The Last of Us" at the same time which I gave to my younger brother as a belated birthday present. By the way he loved the game, the storytelling and game play was awesome. His gaming time also provided me with some entertainment considering how many times he died, but that is besides the point. The amount of memory is incredibly useful considering how much time I spend with the games I love such as "Sly Cooper" and classic animations I use for my nephews. My only issue is that the wire that connects to the PS3 to charge it is extremely short. Plus after only using the wire to charge, the rubber end connecting to the PS3 pulled back to reveal wires. I take good care of my stuff so I was disappointed when I saw this. There were a few freezing moments while playing my game but I heard that was normal. But I love this gaming console and simply put, it was freaking awesome!

Awesome console, but verdict's not out on the game
Bought this 500gb slim PS3 for my husband's birthday recently. He'd sold his PS2 and library of games a few years ago, and has regretted it since, so I would say this made him quite happy. It was pretty easy to set up and came with a black wireless dual shock controller, but no HDMI cable. I also got myself a red wireless controller from Amazon (much cheaper than here in New Zealand). This console has 2 USB ports. Now for the review of the game (understand that this is from someone who hasn't touched a PS console or game in years and was more into FF and racing car games): So, my husband started playing Last of Us that came with the bundle and while it's not really his genre, he was amazed by the detailed graphics (reflections in puddles of water, shadows etc.). Also, he quite like that it's movie-like with a storyline. However, not long into the game, he encountered a hitch where an essential key that was supposed to have dropped from a dead body couldn't be found. He got a bit frustrated searching, so I googled it and found out it may be a glitch. Sure enough, after restarting the encounter, the key appeared this time. Then, come the next problem. Fight 6, I think. He's looked up a Guide and Walkthrough on gamepressure.com, but just can't seem to get past that stage without dying. Apparently, there's no use retaliating once the clickers (what they call the infected) are on to you. Even though it auto-saves and restarts at a close restore point, it gets tiresome real quick, especially if you've tried and died over 50 times in less than an hour. Although he admits he's simply not adept at games such as these, not with the FPS style or blood and gore. I know this game garners great reviews, and he may still try to play it, but ultimately, I suppose he'll probably just palm it off one of his mates. Regardless, for the price of the bundle ($269), the game's basically a bonus. Shipped using FREE AmazonGlobal Saver Shipping and it arrived in a week. Sweet!

Great value!
Bought after the death of a first gen big PS3 (a testament to the build quality, as it lasted many many years with constant use in a dusty and cat-hair filled environment), and the smaller size is definitely useful. I was lost without a blu-ray player, and I found the PS3 to be the best for this years ago. It shows how far ahead of the times it was when it first came out that it still performs great today. I shudder at the thought of early gen BR players that you couldn't update. At this price this is definitely a bargain, and as the next gen takes over hopefully we'll see even more PS3 games with decent discounts, meaning you'll want the extra hard drive space as you fill out your collection. My only complaint is how solid the sliding door mechanism is - hopefully this won't be a problem for the future. If the build quality is anything like my previous PS3, I'll be happy with this for years!

well was worth a shot but...
Hmmm well cant figure out how to post pics...but anyway received a 500gb system but was repacked in a 250gb box (with new 500gb barcade slapped on box)so ill assume that the original box was damaged beyond use so would hardly call it a NEW system but i said well if it works ill live with it so i hooked it up power cord barely fit was really tight. Hdmi port was really lose fit (tried 4 different cords) but somehow it worked i thought ok so i did a system data transfer all went well everything was good then started up skyrim figured if it could handle it would be could and again worked fine...then freeze after freeze to the point where you could hardly get the system to start up due to bad hdmi connection so i got it to work long enough to reformat it so i could get my data off then sent it back Amazon refunded it fast so be wary if you buy this product...
