Product Description A passionate exploration of love, sex and destiny from acclaimed director Julien Hernendez (Broken Sky), Raging Sun, Raging Sky, is a rich, transcendent film experience worthy of it's great critical acclaim. Kieri and Ryo, two young, handsome Mexican men have an unquestioning love for each other; a love expressed through an intense sexual bond that gives meaning to both their lives. When Ryo is abducted, Kieri embarks a journey to reunite with his soul mate under the watchful eye of a female spirit. But the voyage is not an easy one and when Ryo escapes, a chain of events will test the lovers' true devotion to each other. Raging Sun, Raging Sky is a visually stunning ode to the nude male form and power of desire. Review The power of desire has rarely been so ravishingly lensed as in "Raging Sun, Raging Sky," cult helmer Julian Hernandez's stunning ode to love and sex, which literally elevates both to mythological heights. --Variety

GAY BAROQUE
Raging Sun, Raging Sky is simply one of the best gay films I ever saw. It is also the work of one of the best directors of our times. His other movie I saw (can't remember the name) very simple, almost stark, about a youth wandering alone in a mexican city, looking but not finding a lost love, it is almost the opposite. This one is much more difficult, symbolic, baroque, almost out of fashion, in a Cocteau kind of way, a danger in our times. But he succeeds in a splendid and beautiful manner. Finally, this film and the other, so different in style, are so very similar in thematic and its vision of love, that they could only be made by the same guy. Oh, and I was almost forgetting. The film is so good not because it is gay, but in spite of it, almost all gay cinema is such a mess! Great movie, great director, great love story.Hades

LOVE!
Not since "Broken Sky," has this director produced such a splendid, erotic, esoteric, iconic, romantic fantasy. You can see parts of the Aztec folk lore in this film. Very superbly symbolic in so many directions, that it sends your mind spinning. Had to watch this four times to get the whole effect and was that ever mind blowing!! Be prepared for some very exclusive photography!! NJMJr!!!

Raging Sun, Raging Sky
I am sorrrrry I bought this DVD. The cover looked interesting but the content of the DVD were not. This movie reminded me of the "art-ie" movies of the late sixty's. Which at that time people were saying...'oh you gotta go see this or that movie, it' so avant Gard an blah blah....which were most of the time boring and didn't keep your interest. There was one movie I was draggedto where this woman ( and she wasn't even attractive...must have slept w/the director)walked around and did nothing but stare and once in while she wouldpose. After the movie I ask this friend never to invite me anywhere again. This movie reminded me of that movie but there is some nudity in this one not that it helped. It won an award somewhere...how was that possible? Oh wellsome people SEE things thru colored glasses, bless their hearts. That was another thing that mis-led me.... the award it had received. I read that and thought that I couldn't go wrong in buying this DVD....WRONG!!!!!I THINK YOU SHOULD RENT IT IF YOU CAN BEFORE BUYING IT.

Raging Sun, Raging Sky
Wow...what a great movie...with love, suspense, adventure, comedy, great acting from the principal actors and a fine story line. I would recommend it highly...it has some potent scenes...not easy to watch...but this movie is destined to become a classic.

A Rocky Road to hoe ...
I started viewing this film with no particular preconceptions, but I got restive after the first hour, then another hour went by, then I thought the film had finished but then it got a second wind, became suspiciously metaphysical, and finally ended after 3 hours and 12 minutes. I was exhausted and in a torpor - what was the point of all this Castaneda inspired nonsense? It occurred to me that the film should have been divided into two - the banal first part, which runs nearly 2 hours, and then the metaphysical second part, which could be a sequel running 70 minutes or so, and containing some extraordinary geological features and special effects, easily the most interesting components of this curious film.

Not quite what I was expecting, but definitely worth the watch.
I wasn't expecting this film to be what it is. I ended up loving it all the same. Not a lot of dialogue, which was actually perfect because the scenes were so well played that a dialogue really wasn't needed....for the most part. Yes, I was confused a few times on what the meaning of what was being portrayed on screen meant but was later able to understand. There is a lot of randomness from the start up to about half way through, but it all makes sense later. I think this film was beautifully done, especially in the way the actors were able to portray the story with hardly any dialogue at all.

An Avante Garde film. Not a movie if you are interested in an action packed film or one with a lot of drama. Spellbinding in its simplicity.
