KATIVA Brazilian Straightening Kit

Easy to use, smell wasn’t bad I used a fan while ironing my hair so I didn’t notice any smell. My hair is softer and easier to manage now. It’s a fraction of the price I would have paid to get it done in the salon so I am very happy about this product! Deserves a 5 star.My hair is colored and I did notice a slight change is color but not an issue for me.

I’m not really one for reviews but I bought this full of apprehension and wanted to let others know how amazing it is! I’m such a “it will grow back” with my hair and we did a dodgy home perm. Right before my holidays 😭 I had an emergency condition at the hair dressers but as soon as the heat hit it was a giant mass of mess! I ordered this whilst I was still away and it was delivered as I got home and I did it straight away. It is a lengthy process and the combing through is a right pain but persevere! My hair is lovely, straight and so soft. Half way through I thought I’d just made it worse but that last condition and blow dry it feels amazing!! I’d 100% recommend x

I’ve used a different brand (Cocochoco) for several years with stunning results, especially in the beginning. But the last three times I’ve applied it, my hair wouldn’t get as smooth and sleek anymore. So I decided to try another brand. Also, i liked the fact that I wouldn’t have to wait for those three days for the treatment to work before I could wash it out, but would get immediate results instead.So far, so good! First of all, the treatment seemed to have worked better than the last attempts with my usual brand. My hair is smooth and also shiny, though not glossy. But as long as my frizz is controlled, I will call it a success.I have long, wavy hair, about 50 cm, that tends to be dry and frizzy.The whole application took me 5 long hours which definitely annoyed me and made me get impatient towards the end. What took so long was the straightening of the hair (2 hours), after the product was applied onto the hair and blow dried. It’s recommended to go over every thin strand 8-12, which I did (12x). Don’t get me wrong, this step you have to do with every other home kit. The difference is, that your hair becomes kind of „hardened“ and kind of unmanageable after you have blow dried the product onto the hair. Make sure you keep on brushing gently while drying, that helps. So, In the end my scalp hurt a lot by deranging each strand with the brush before pulling further with the straightener for multiple times (since the hair wouldn’t glide through it, as usual). What an amount of hard work this was!Having said all this, after washing and conditioning, my hair felt great, silky and smooth and not damaged at all, like some reviews said. So, I guess, it’s been a success. I might try another brand though next time, because the process to get there was to long and Unpleasant. But I think, for people with shorter hair, it will work brilliantly!Oh, and the fumes didn’t smell bad or make me cough. All fine everything in this regard.

Horrible product, got my hair so sticky and tangled up that I pulled a lot of hair trying to brush it.Sticky and touch is unpleasant even after washing and drying

This is the first time I have used this product, I have previously had treatment done in Salons twice at £150 a time.I come across this on here and thought I would give it ago.Applying the treatment was time, although I applied to to thicker sections at a time than it mentions but applied well and I still had product left at the end.I had difficulty with the drying stage as it states that hair needs to be dry, which is difficult when having product on hair, my hair takes a long time to dry as it is. But I done the best I could.When straightening, again, I done bigger sections than stated, and it does smoke slightly due to product and I probably had more excess on there due to struggling with the drying. But I found going over sections not too slow and more times helped.When rinsing product off in the shower it felt so much better straight away, applied shampoo twice as first time didn't lather enough but much better second time and then applied provided conditioner.When started drying at a downwards angle without brush, it was drying so smooth and soft with a great shine. Finished off with straightening which took no time at all.End result, I am very pleased, my hair is smooth with no frizz, lovely and straight with a beautiful shine. Will await to see what my hair is like after a night's sleep.Looking at what shampoo and conditioner to purchase, to avoid sulfates and salt, have taken a look at kativa option, hasn't got great feedback but I have looked at the ingredients and it doesn't have the ones you should avoid. I think people are weary because there are alot of ingredients out there that are similar and they assume they are the same thing. Which they are not. So I think I'm going to give kativa shampoo and conditioner ago and see how I get on with it and decide for myself.Great value for what the end result is, fingers crossed it lasts a while with strict up keep, if so I would definitely buy again as it has saved me like £140

I have wavy, frizzy coloured hair, just under my shoulder blades. Having tried other kits in the past I decided to try this one out as it can be washed off after applying the treatment without having to wait days with it. Unfortunately after washing it has be shaped with heat (unlike others brands) otherwise it’s still frizzy. I blow dry it and then use a heated brush and takes a few brushes to make the hair shine, but still is not what I was looking for.It also does change the colour if bleached, but nothing that a blue shampoo can’t get back to.The shampoo and conditioner that comes in the box are not nice and tangled my hair, I used them once and then binned them.
