BELLSuper Air R MIPS Adult Mountain Bike Helmet

I am really happy with this BELL Super Air helmet, very comfortable, great features.
I ride All-Mountain to Enduro in the pacific northwes; some fairly fast and steep moto trails. We've been wearing basic helmets such as Fox and Giro and my wife has a POC but they are all just top shells for Trail riding. Well after my wife caught a pedal on a fairly steep rooty section and did a flying header face first into a large cut off stump, hiked out 2 miles in shock and went to the ER to have the hole in her face patched up... I decided it was time to replace my 5+ year old standard helmet. Here's what I like about this Bell Super Air:- It is very comfortable, looks and feels well designed- Light weight- easy to install chin bar- Good visibility with the chin bar installed- Great ventilation- Sweat seems to channel away from my eyeballs, and I can work up a good stream when riding- Does not feel like it is riding on my brow-line like the TLD I had for a short period and ditched-I love the adjustable visor, it is very functional and easy to use (no screws, just detents)Con's:The thumb adjuster for tightness is a bit small and hard to reach.I highly recommend this helmet.

Fire engine red, actual product NOT as pictured.
Awesome product and still super sharp but as you can see in the photo the helmet is red, hence my 3 star rating which is more on the seller than the product itself. I know the color description is “red/ gray” which is exactly what came but it’s like red red. Like fire engine red, lightening McQueen red, or stop sign red. The picture from this and many other sellers on Amazon for the 2020 line of Bell Super Air R helmets show this color as more of a Burnt Orange. I was trying to decide between two colors and that Burnt orange look won me over since it matched some of my components... so was pretty disappointed to get a Fire Engine red helmet. Again, it’s super sharp even in that color, just not what was represented in the photos. Which is odd because they appear to be taken from Bell’s website, but if you go to Bell’s website (which I highly suggest), the Red Helmet looks red like what was delivered. Only realized/ did that after I got it. Seller, please fix the tinting on your photo to represent the true color. If you want a super light convertible Bike helmet in Sports Car RED then this is your product! Other than not being same color as pictured it is an awesome helmet in every way.

Solid update to a good helmet
I had the previous model and liked it very much. That helmet got damaged in a non-cycling incident and put me back on the market. I have a Bell head, all of their products fit my head well. I've tried other brands and they don't fit as well for me. I wanted to buy the same helmet but decided to pull the trigger on this one. I'm glad I did. This updated model has significantly better ventilation, an easier process for chin bar installation and generally feels much lighter. That said, if you have a functional version of the older model and you like it, I'd probably wait on buying this one. The newer model is great but I don't know that it's a required upgrade. If you need a new helmet, I'd highly recommend this one.

Just as comfortable as a road bike helmet.
I put a Bafang BBS02 motor on my Rans Recumbent. Average speed for this Class 3 ebike is about 22 MPH. Going down the mountains, gravity takes her into the 30s and I have maxed out twice at 43. My simple Schwinn road bike helmet is not going to give my face and chin any protections at those speeds.I tried a cheap full face helmet but the sizing and comfort were all wrong. Then I decided to get the Bell 3R but the buckle and strap system looked exactly the same as my $20 Schwinn helmet from Wal-Mart. It seemed over priced. Fortunately the 3R was sold out everywhere and the Super R Air was available and in a decent color. The Super Air R is also lighter than the 3R.I was still expecting a tight and heavy helmet but I was loosing my nerve on some of the hills and wanted a better helmet.Bottom line; This is just as comfortable as a road bike helmet. It is only a little heavier but the perfect fit makes up for it and you will not notice the weight. The only intrusion into my field of view is a little bit of the chin guard and the visor. My first ride tonight was 32 miles and spent 2 1/2 hours with it on even during breaks. You forget it is there.I always wear a dew rag under my helmets to keep the bugs out of my hair and in the winter I wear a fleece skull cap. Both fit nicely with this helmet. The removable chin guard works OK but I spent the money on this so I could have full face protection. The chin guard is never coming off.

Great for rowdier trail and enduro rides.
The media could not be loaded. Excellent helmet. I’ve seen some reviews and people saying that the helmet effectively smashes on impact, but that’s really what it’s supposed to do. It’s incredibly comfortable and lightweight, and it doesn’t particularly feel like a full face. It works very well for light enduro or bike park riding. No, I wouldn’t use it for enduro racing or downhill, but it definitely fills a need for a daily full face that will keep you from breaking your jaw on your rowdier rides. After a guy I know got his jaw broken on a trail ride, I’ve been pretty happy to be more cautious, and this helmet really adds some confidence to my protective gear.

Lightweight and cool
Motorcycle helmets are heavy and hot. I discovered this helmet and wanted to try it out. Although it is not made for ATV/UTV use, I have enjoyed the cool air flowing through my hair. It's the happy medium between an off-road helmet and wearing nothing.

Great comfortable safe helmet
I bought this helmet about eight months ago now and had a lot of use out of it. The helmet is really comfortable and I feel safe that if I come off and hit my head it will do its job well. I love that it can be used as a full face or just as a normal helmet and it is easy to attach and release as I use full face on the trails and just helmet on the roads. There is one negative issue I have encountered and that is the removable sweat inserts that you can remove to wash, the material attached to the foam has peeled off, it can still be used but this should not happen on such an expensive helmet. I would recommend this helmet as I have been very happy with it.

Lo he devuelto.
