A beautiful celebration of Minnesota's bountiful agriculture!
Don't miss your opportunity to get an inside look at the amazing farmers in our community and how they put food on our plates, with a wide variety of recipes straight from farm to table restaurants along the way! The recipes are easy to follow and left me inspired, while the stories are thoughtfully written and left me completely romanced. Not to mention the absolutely stunning photography! Don't ever forget that your dollar and where you spend it matters! While it is fabulous to support our farmers, you also wind up with the best product when you eat with the seasons- nothing stands a chance to taste better than what is fresh and local in every moment. I applaud these lovely ladies, Claudine Arndt & Katie Cannon, for embracing the farm to table movement in such a beautiful way, and sharing it with our community. WELL DONE!

Delicious, Beautiful and Insightful
This is so much more than a cookbook! If you are a foodie and love your local farmer, you will want this book on your coffee table. First, the stories of the farmers will give you an intimate view into their daily life, their hearts and souls. These men and women finally have their stories told in a way that will warm your heart and bring a tear to your eye. Claudine Arndt is a talented writer who captured something very special and unique in each farmer's story. And if you love the local Twin Cities food scene, you'll be delighted to get the delicious recipes of some of your favorite farm-to-table restaurants. Lastly, I loved the photography because it truly captures life on our local farms. I highly recommend you add this to your cookbook collection!

Tasting the Strawberry Rhubarb for the first time was definitely a culinary experience!
I love my new cookbook! I found the Farmer and the Chef to be far more than just the usual cookbook for several reasons. First the recipes are easy to follow for all levels of cooking. The layout is user friendly and often contains helpful suggestions. The companion photography is truly stunning! I enjoyed reading the stories and memories about the farmers involved with the Minnesota Farmers Union as they are a vital part of our Minnesota community. This cookbook will be a great Christmas present for friends and relatives.

Midwestern Goodness
More than a Midwestern cookbook. The stories and photos share how Midwestern farmers put their heart and soul into their land and how it translates to their tables. The wild rice, rhubarb and potato casserole recipes bring back memories of childhood. So many other recipes I can’t wait to dive into. Lastly I love how the stories, photos and recipes are organized to give us a peek into the farmer’s way of life. Daybreak to Dessert ❤️.

There is so much to love about this - the stories and focus on local farming and sourcing of ingredients make this such a unique premise; the recipes cover every occasion (I really can't wait to try them all); and the photography is simply stunning. Absolutely a must-buy for your own collection and would make the perfect gift for any home!

Buy direct from Minnesota farmers
Wonderful recipes with great suggestions for Minnesota farms to support. This is the first time I have seen a cookbook that includes suggestions on where to source your ingredients. Sources are high quality with an emphasis on organic, grass fed, pasture raised, etc. I hope we see a lot more of this kind of cookbook!!
