I have rather large and very heavy (80lbs) steel flattop griddle plate, 40 inches wide by 30 inches deep.Thats a lot of real estate to keep clean and seasoned. These allow me to do both easily. The screen breaks up all the little burnt on crusties and makes it easy and fast to clean the griddle. The screen and foam pad are easy to clean and help with spreading a new coat of seasoning oil on the hot surface. This is the same type of set up we used to keep the flattop clean in the fast food joint I worked at in high school.

Easy to use and fast clean

The best griddle stone, the type that we used in my series of BBQ and Steak Houses, is made of expanded blast furnace slag, foamed with hydrogen sulfide gas. The slag is glass-like, very hard and lasts a long time. As the stone is used, the slag wears away, releasing the hydrogen sulfide gas. Thus the knickname "fart rock"Pumice is far too soft and totally sucks as a grill stone.This product uses heat-resistant foam rubber and sanding pads. The pad does not cut nearly as fast as fart rock and the pad is a one use, sometimes twice used affair.The only place I've found to get fart rock stones is from wholesale restaurant supply companies which typically have a $500 minimum order so this product is what I use now that I'm only hobby-cooking.

Great for my flat top grill

This is a great set that will last a long time. Restaurant quality for cleaning your griddle. Just make sure to wear protective gloves so you don't get hurt if your hand slips.

Nice starter kit and then just replenish over time
