Love the scale
I love the scale as it can be installed on any hard surface. I installed on wood, but it worked fine. Since this scale goes up to 700 pounds with attractive price, we thought we could use the scale to weight my goats and lambs. Incredibly accurate and spot on. Cannot say enough good things about this purchase.

Worked for 10 months, then stopped and wouldn't calibrate. PEC has done nothing to assist.
We purchased this scale for our veterinary hospital in June of 2021 and received in July of 2021 due to shipping issues. We had several reasons for choosing this particular scale: 1. It had a large platform that would fit big dogs. 2. It weighed low enough for small pets, such as young puppies, kittens and cats. 3. It had a stable, low to the ground platform, making it less intimidating to pets. 4. PEC was a known manufacturer with a good reputation for customer service. 5. It was offered with a one year warranty. The scale came and overall it met our needs. It had more "give" in the platform than we were expecting and the stainless steel platform would "pop" when a pet stepped on it, but we were able to compensate for this with matting. Once we solved that issue it worked well for us until about 3 weeks ago. It began giving inaccurate weights about 3 weeks ago and refused to calibrate. We called PEC and left messages, but they never picked up the phone or responded. After about 10 days we finally were able to get a hold of someone from PEC who suggested we purchase a standardized weight of 50 lbs to calibrate the scale (we had been using a 40# bag of dog food), and if that didn't work to call them back. The cost of a standardized 50# weight is about $75. The scale cost around $350. It was frustrating to be asked to add additional cost on a scale we might end up replacing. Not to mention, the scale was off by 20 to 30 lbs and fluctuating, not off by ounces. BUT, we did what we were asked to do and found a standardized weight and tried again, the scale still would not calibrate. We called PEC back, and this time a live person answered, HURRAY! She told us a tech would call us that afternoon between 3:30 and 4pm. I explained the issue we were having with both getting a live person on the phone, and getting support. She PROMISED he would call back and that she wouldn't forget about us. We never received a phone call from the tech and no one from PEC ever responded. The accuracy of our scale is paramount to us since we use it to dose medications, some of which must be precise. We have a back up scale, but it isn't as comfortable for the big dogs. We will now have to buy another scale to replace this one, which will be an added expense. I understand that products can fail, but I don't understand the lack of client service from such a major distributor to the public and animal industries. I am extremely disappointed in PEC who I have known to make good products in the past. This issue might be something simple, but who knows?! since we can't get decent client service from the manufacturer.

Digital read out failed quickly
After a very short time the digital read out quit working and I had to buy a new one of those. Programing the new digital read to the scale was difficult. Other wise I have been happy with the scale. The failure of the read out is why I gave it three stars.
