When it comes to using these, I did do a little research before buying to see if it was worth it. I went ahead and bought these and so glad I did. I received a sourdough starter kit for Christmas and have been really wanting to try it out. When these came in, I wiped them both down really good. I then sprayed the round basket with oil, since that was the one I was going to use first, and then I dusted the whole basket with flour. Once I shook the basket to get the excess flour out, I then placed my dough inside and allowed it to rise. Once it was done, I took it out and it still kept the form of the circle. As you can see in the picture, when it came out, you could see the flour that was inside of the basket is now on the dough. While the bread was baking, to clean the basket, I just rinsed it really quick to get the flour that was stuck inside out. I then dried it thoroughly and then air dried it to make sure I got everything. Once the bread was done, I placed the linen liner inside and let the bread completely cool in that. I used the scraper when I was getting the excess dough off of my cutting board. I waited till my second loaf to use the scoring lame and just a basic square on top. When I finally used the oval shaped on, I used the scoring lame on the top to just make lines. The blades on these are really sharp. These baskets are really easy to use and like that I can use these to not only let the dough rise but to let my bread cool too.

This is a good set for a beginner or intermediate baker who doesn't do a TON of baking. I bought one for myself and have used it to regularly make sour dough. No issues so far.It includes a lame and therefore makes a good gift set.

This bread proofing set turned out to be a great investment. The baskets are quality construction and look like they will last a long time! I received a plastic dough scraper as well as a metal one with wooden handle. The lame is good construction with a wooden handle. The cover for the baskets fit great and are sturdy material and well sewn. The picture is my bread that proofed in the round basket with the cloth cover. This was my third try at sourdough bread and it came out great using the basket. First 2 times I had no proofing basket and the rounds were kinda flat.Great difference using these baskets. Floured the basket and no sticking issues. I am really happy with my purchase. Customer service is EXCELLENT! Very nice set all put together in a nice box. In addition I received a sourdough bread ebook full of great information. I am so happy with the set that I purchased another set from this seller so I would have 4 baskets total. This is a great deal and great quality. I love this for a starter pack. It has both sizes. Round and oval. It also comes with a nice scraper and dough knife.As well as a lame. So this is the ultimate starter pack that I will be referring people to get because it comes with everything you need to get started with Sourdough baking. I used before reviewing and I really like the quality of everything.The linen was nice and of course I followed instructions so my dough didn’t stick at all. The dough knife is nice and sharp. So cutting my dough in half was a breeze. The lame was good quality as well.Over all this is the best starter kit with a great price. Highly recommend.

Wow! I'm pleasantly surprised! These bannetons are of VERY good quality! Good weight, tight coiling, virtually no splinters, and no protruding nails!The basket liners seem fairly well sewn (no open/loose seams).The metal bench scraper is sturdy (hope it doesn't rust), the plastic one is just average.The lame is decent but the blades are pretty flimsy (I can always buy better when needed).The recipes were available via a url in the instruction insert.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it! (And I'm VERY picky).

I like these! With Covid, I’ve been getting more into homemade bread (like many others). This is a great starter kit! It seems that it isn’t very sturdy, but I’ve used it about 10 times now and have been very happy with the results!! It also comes with directions on how to prep your basket. Use rice flower to prep the basket! I prep mine every time before I proof a loaf. So far, nothing has started growing that isn’t supposed to and the lines turn out great!

I have been watching YouTube videos about how to make sourdough bread and how to let it proof in these bread bowls. When I searched for theses bowls, this one came up. I bought this because it was a set, and it’s a great one to start off with. It really has everything you need to get started on the way to making sourdough. I like the size of the baskets as well, a little small, but for my family of four, they work perfect. I would recommend this product for beginners because it has everything to get started and it’s a great price.
