The book maintains that 1/250 is the maximum speed in order for the camera to sync. However, the situation is more complicated as fill flash can use high-speed sync and this is compatible with third party flashes.fill flash can be selected in the menu.

First class guide. I am not new to Sony cameras but this book taught me so much about my new A7Riv. So much good advice, help with best use of the thousand of camera settings. Advice also on lenses and tips at the end on cleaning and looking after the sensor. Invaluable.
