This takes all of the hassle out of installing cage nuts in those off brand racks or name brand racks with off brand cheaper cage nuts. Set it one time to the size of the cage nut you have and it’s like finger nail clippers. Easy to use and holds the cage nut firmly until you are done installing it. 2 seconds per cage nut rather than fiddling for a few minutes each! Well worth $10-$15

So, if you install "cage nuts" a lot, this will make your job easier and save your fingers. I found that putting them in with the tabs going left/right was easier than up/down (if that makes sense).

If you frequently install cage nuts in racks, this is the tool you need. It grabs the nuts like a pair of pliers and squeezes them together so you can easily put them in the holes without breaking a nail or pinching your skin trying to do it by hand. A must-have for a network administrator/IT tech.

I have been installing and uninstalling cage nuts for better part of 25 years, and my fingers and hands have some not so great stories. I have used screw drivers, needle nose pliers, cage nut pull straps and insertion tools. Even with all of these, I have bleed enough over the years to most likely meet the needs of the local blood bank. This was a great find and they make things very easy (especially removal). Hell do like me and ask yourself why buy one when you can get two for twice the price!!!!! Worth every penny. Will see how it holds out over time (build seems to be good so not that worried), but will update if anything changes.

Anyone who has worked on a rack for more than five minutes understands the pain of cage nuts (pun intended). I’m pretty sure there was a time when just the thought of having to work on the rack made my fingers start bleeding. This little device is a complete life-saver - well, maybe not literally, but it certainly saves your poor fingers. Not to mention the expletives that come along with all those painful cuts to the fingers we have all experienced. Death by 1000 cuts?… More like death by 1000 cage nuts. Thankfully this no longer has to be our terrifying reality.

It took me a few times to figure it out, but once I got the hang of it, I was throwing cage nuts into racks and saved a bunch of time. Easy to use, like nail clippers. It'll take you a few to get used to, but once you figure out a flow, you'll save time!

Purchased this item because i got tired of hurting my fingers and dropping nuts on the floor. It is hard to get into some racks where the space behind is not large. But, i have like it for the most part. I would recommend having this in your tool bag just in case.

Works well for a while, but it wears quickly when you handle steel cages with this aluminium tool. A harder alloy or even steel would be preferred.

Anyone who has worked with tricky cage nuts and shredded their fingers will appreciate this tool! Once you get the hand of it, it works perfectly every time. I found there was a bit of a knack to it and it doesn't take long to figure out. You can also adjust it with the small screw which can help for different sizes. Recommend this for anyone working on racks. Always keep this in my work bag.
