Tap Magic cutting fluid is superb when used properly with a slower drill speed. It also works great to remove markings made by using a wax pencil, a permanent marker, and dye that are often used during lay out. I don't trust any other fluid with my drill bits and hole saws when drilling into any metal. Watch for smoke. That makes it an obvious sign that either too much pressure is being applied or too much speed is being used.

What can I say? This stuff really worked well. Great value for the money. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat and recommend it to family and friends. Good stuff.

Been using Tap Magic for over 40 years, great product from drilling and tapping metals

Works very well. Keep the drill speed where it needs to be and keep some pressure on it and you'll be getting ribbons of solid metal dancing around your drill bit. I gave it to the guy in the fab corner of the shop and he said it works great but smells like a dead turkey when you're drilling. Not sure how he came up with that comparison, but I will admit it does smell pretty funky as you drill.

This product is highly rated and I found that it appeared to do as it should. A little goes a long way. The applicator tip worked well and the cap was easy to use. There is no noticeable odor when working with it.

Well packaged product, no leak delivery. The cutting fluid helped keep the drill bit cool cutting fast through steel.

Best drill bit lubricant on the market!

I need to drill and tap steel occasionally to make and maintain tools around the house and shop. Tap Magic makes the cutting go a lot easier and is essential when tapping steel. My last can of Tap Magic last me about 15 years.It had a unique smell which I liked but I guess the chemical was toxic. The new stuff is just as effective but doesn't have that smell and is safer. The new formula is also good for use on aluminum and other metals where the older Tap Magic I was using wasn't recommended for aluminum. From my experience, drilling in steel without a cutting fluid dulls the bits in short order or causes them to bind and break.I haven't tried other brands since I don't use it very often. I understand that regular lubricating oil isn't an acceptable substitute for cutting fluid.
