Excellent recurve for the money
When I bought this, I hadn't owned or even shot a bow in over 30 years. My last was a PSE compound when I was in high school. I recently cleared some clutter out of the backyard and noted that I had plenty of empty space, so I decided to set up a little private archery range. This bow (50# draw, RH) was what I settled on after a few hours of reading reviews and I've been quite happy with it. Quality materials and excellent craftsmanship. Assembly was intuitive and quick. My primary use for this bow is target practice and exercise. I put about 25 arrows through it every weeknight after my workout. It's consistently accurate, easy to string/unstring (using a stringer), and comfortable to shoot. It is quite usable as a hunting weapon, in the unlikely event that I feel the sudden urge to go slaughter some frolicking forest fauna. I even bought a few broadheads against the possibility. I suspect they'll never even be fitted to arrows, but it's nice to have them if I need them. Whether you're returning to archery as I am or just starting into it, this is an affordable, quality bow which will serve you well. You're not going to win any archery competitions with it, but that is not its intended use; it is a backyard bow and serves that purpose admirably.

So happy with this bow.
A beautiful bow! A little more difficult to build and takedown than the SAS Spirit bows we own. But it feels a bit more sturdy than the Spirit. The kit comes with everything you need except arrows which made it an easy Christmas gift for our son. The case was also well made and fits all the gear easily. The SAS stringer makes stringing the bow easy. I like that the strap is wider than most stringers. I feel like it makes it easier to use.

really nice bow
I decided at the age of 48 to add another discipline to my resume, and purchased this bow. I purchased it for the price mostly and was delightfully surprised with the craftsmanship. when I first attempted to shoot it I quickly learned the #50 draw weight was a bit much for me, so I ordered the #40 limbs. since then my back yard practice sessions have greatly improved. in time I will begin to use the #50 limbs again once the muscles which are used for drawing get worked into shape. all being said, my shooting continues to improve exponentially and I am enjoying my purchase more and more each day. the package is very basic and some will find there are some accessories which will be advantageous to purchase, but this is a wonderful bow, which appears to be built to last a lifetime. if there was an improvement to it, I would suggest a tool free bolt to attach the limbs to the riser, but if there were thumb screws there would probably be problems with snagging in densely wooded areas (6 of one, half dozen of another).

Great bow! Upper limb not flush with riser though.
(This review is for the 50# version.) This bow arrived on time and in great condition and I absolutely love it! Since I've received it I've taken it out almost every day for at least one hour of practice and it shoots great. Somewhat strong vibration and a tad noisy, but nothing terrible and for target practice it's not an issue at all. The little arrow rest is nice and hasn't come off as I've read on some other reviews. I do have TWO issues with it but, not sure if it actually is an issue. The upper limb does NOT sit flush on the riser. The pictures don't show as well as I'd hoped but, you can see. The bottom limb is flush so, it's noticeable. I've been shooting and it hasn't caused any problems at all. The other is that the two receivers to screw the bolts in have chips (pictures as well) but, this has shown to cause no issue with tightening at all. Just thought I'd be thorough in my review. The bow is beautiful and feels great to hold. So far the string has held up perfectly and I am very satisfied. 4 stars due to my two issues with the bow. I did email customer support on the SAS website, hope to hear back soon!

Rock solid and beautiful design
Everyone who’s seen the bow has commented on how good it looks... but that’s a nice side note. The bow itself is solid and well built. No creaking and consistent. It’s a bit snappy with a noisy release. Easily correctable with a $4 set of string silencers. I usually shoot one piece but wanted an affordable takedown for throwing in the Jeep on camping trips. I haven’t touched either of my one pice bows since I got this weeks ago! LOVE THIS THING!

Great budget recure.
This is a great bow to start with. I own 3 compound bows but was looking for a recurve for a hunt this fall. I haven't shot a bow with open sights since I was a child and definitely don't remember missing my target so much. But the bow does shoot nice I had no problems setting it up and have had no problems with it in 2 months. Great product for the price and perfect for a beginner on a budget.

Absolute Perfection
This bow is amazing! It has a very beautiful solid wood finish, the grip is large and fits perfectly in my hand, the entire bow is very lightweight despite how large it is, and the feel of the draw is superb. I'll admit that the draw strength makes me feel like a b****, but I guess that's what happens when you jump from a 25lb bow to a 50lb. The more I look at it, the more I can see myself using it for hours in my back yard instead of burning money at the gun range for a couple of hours or so. Now that I have my perfect bow, it's time to shop for accessories and more targets. >=3

It's a great price for a quality item
My husband absolutely loves this bow. I ordered the 60lb bow at first because that's what he wanted for his birthday but it's just too strong to shoot with over and over so I returned it with no problems and got him the 45lb bow. It's a great price for a quality item, he loves it and shoots with it almost every other day. Great birthday present for any guy! :D
