Good tool & good connector Asst.
The ratcheting crimp tool works like a charm, plenty of help online to use. A really good assortment of connectors, better than a lot of others sets. I don't really use ribbon cable with these, just 24 gauge silicon hookup wire & it makes a strong connection. Much easier to make your own custom cables than buy costlier vanilla ones that aren't quite right!

it works
Worked as advertised but I wish crimping these connectors was easier. Best to buy pre-crimped wires where you can. price is great.

Excellent ratcheting crimping tool!
I use this for repairing and/or making RC servo extension wire connectors. Although I had never done this before, I was able to use the ratcheting crimper to successfully complete these otherwise difficult and frustrating crimps. The tool ratchets first to hold the pin in exactly the correct position. When everything is in the correct place further ratcheting will complete the crimp!

Not bad, not bad at all
Good stuff for the price. I wish it would crimp a little tighter so fatter insulation would squish enough to get into the connectors. Works fine with 24 gauge and wires with less insulation.Find a decent video on how to use these, though. I borked about 20 pins before I found some good instructions (check the mpcnc forum for Jeff's video). I've done about half the pins now and only had to redo two plugs.

good enough, given its price point
i have some at my job that i imagine are high dollar crimpers. These work almost as well as those with one exception which is why i docked 1 star. The part that crimps over the insulation doesnt get squeezed quite enough to fit into the black housings. after crimping i have to give it a little squeeze with some pliers, then it clicks right into the black piece. given the price difference between these and "brand name" crimpers i can live with it.

The right tool for the job makes it easier
This is the way to do DuPont connectors. I struggled for years using pliers and other odd crimpers. Of course I had issues getting the CSI Jets into the housings. This tool makes all of that a breeze. Working on a recent kit i didn’t dread doing all of the connectors. Now, I’m more likely to use pin headers in my future projects.

Crimping jaw broke
On about the 5th crimp the front part of the bottom jaw broke off. I didn't expect Mac tools quality, but 5 crimps?
