Perfect, variety, fun Sight Word Activities
We recently started with my 4 year old, she is good at memorizing her sightwords, so after doing prek pint size flashcards, I chose this book to up her level and to do more work and I'm really I glad I did. I bought it used but it came in perfect condition, also shipped abroad. I will ve purchasing next 1sr grade for when we are done, we have done 11 words so far, about one a day when we fell like it. I tell her that practice makes perfect and she enjoys the colorfull activities...and the reading sentences.

Fun for a 4YR Old
My daughter is only 4, but she really enjoys memorizing these words. She hates tracing, so I have her do that part with her finger or skip it. You can really make whatever modifications you want to fit your child’s taste. The coolest part is reading the test story at the end of each section. I read the words she hasn’t learned and then point to the ones she has for her to say. My only complaint is that the picture next to each word is excessive and a lot of times confusing. She will look to the picture to help jog her memory, but a lot of the times the picture has nothing to do with the word. It’s really a confusing distraction more than anything.

Buy it!
My daughter is 6. I am trying to teach her reading and writing. This book is it.. Better than expected honestly. Very simple yet goes through every necessary sight word. The colors are nice. Not boring black and white pictures and fonts. Pleasantly surprised!

Súper helpful
We go back and read all the sight words we worked on daily before doing the next page. Very effective this way

Basics
This is a good basic sight word book for Kindergarten. A little simple but not overly so. Keeps it a bit varied to make the repetitiveness not overwhelmingly boring. I recommend it for those on the verge of being able to read whole beginner books and paragraphs but still getting some more difficult words wrong. This is mostly for reinforcement of prior learning. Must have other materials to complete phonics. This is only sight words and not Dolche sight words. Not sure what they are using to call these words such.

Excellent resource for learning
Excellent book for learning sight words. Have been homeschooling my grandson for two years, used the kindergarten book and now the first grade book and they helped tremendously teaching my boy to read!

Excellent Resource for Sight Words
The Words to Know Sight Words, Grade 1 is great for practicing sight words. Sight words are important to just know and should not be sounded out. The book itself has over 200 pages of sight word practice. The words start off easier in the first section and progress to more challenging words. Each word has two pages of practice-on one page you read and write the word and on the second page there are different activities with the word (word searches, coloring the word, circling the word, etc.). At the end of each section is a review and a story. As an elementary school teacher with over 15 years of experience, I think that this is a great book for extra practice. As a teacher, I could put the pages in plastic sleeves and use them in centers. If I'm teaching the specific sight word in class I could give these pages as homework. They could also be fun review pages to do when your class has a substitute. For parents, you could easily use this book at home to get a head start on teaching your child sight words. The book is for first grade students (it states ages 6-7). However, I could see Kindergarten students practicing these words as well. Also, if your child is struggling with sight words this is good review. My only issue with this book is that the flash cards in the back are printed on normal paper. They should be printed on card stock so that they do not get ruined. I would suggest cutting out the cards and either laminating them or attaching them to index cards.

Check to make sure the spine and cover are not damaged.
Received the “new” item in a “damaged” state. Spine was ripped as well as significantly creased. Also the top of front cover bent and worn.
