This is the first eyebrow filling product I've ever purchased. I only recently started plucking/shaping my brows so I decided I might as well start filling them too. I decided to try this since it was affordable and came in the color I needed.First of all, it's pretty small, but perfect for keeping in your purse for touch ups. Even though it's small it should last me at least a year.I'd never used a brow product before, so I wasn't exactly sure what I was doing. I'd looked tutorials on the internet but I was still unsure.I tried one brow with the wax and one without. First I use the spoolie to brush the wax onto my brow, I then use the brush to gather some black powder and began to fill in my brow.At first it kind of smeared around, and I even had some fall out under my eye. I found if I brushed only once on the powder it wouldn't pick up as much, no longer leaving fall out. I did however end up having to clean up around my eyebrow from the smearing. It looked really nice, the wax made the powder much darker, and even had a nice sheen to itThe second brow I only used powder, It was more subtle and less noticeable than the brow with wax. The color was also less dark and opaqueThe one with the wax lasted slightly longer than the one without. I did end up having to touch it up after a few hours (the tail of my brow completely gone, but the main part of my brow still looked good)I also have very sensitive skin, especially around the eye area, and this did not irritate my skin at allIt washed off easily with my regular cleanser.Overall, it's a great product for a beginner. I found it very easy to use, it looked very natural, and the powders and wax can create multiple looks.

Great for filling in eyebrows and cruelty-free too!
I have fairly thick brows but needed a product to fill in the sparser areas and the occasional empty spot (caused by an eyebrow hair or two falling out). Nyx Eyebrow Cake Powder does the job beautifully. It's much better than any eyebrow pencil that I've ever used. The powder gives a much more natural, softer look than a pencil does. The colors are very pigment-rich so I recommend starting with the lighter color first and then if needed layer on the darker color on top of that (I have very dark brows so I bought the black/gray kit, and mostly just use the gray color). The slant-tip brush that comes with the kit is very easy to use and does a good job of applying the color. The kit also comes with a spoolie brush and a small round pot of clear wax, I guess to set your brow hairs in place after you've applied the color. I don't use the wax as I found it to be too greasy-looking when applied to my brows. But the two powders are just great. It's great too that Nyx can offer such a high quality product at such a low price. I've seen other brow powders cost 5 or 6 times as much as this one. Ridiculous! You don't have to spend your hard-earned money on those over-inflated prices when a company like Nyx makes products like these. One other thing about this brow powder kit and all Nyx products: they're all cruelty-free (they don't test their products on animals) and labeled as such. This may or may not be important to you but it's something I look for in all the beauty products I use. I really appreciate Nyx sticking to this cruelty-free promise when so many other makeup companies have not.

not too shabby
I like this quite a lot. I'm not 100% in love with it because it does tend to fade by the end of the day, but it still gets four stars because I demand a lot from my makeup -- very few things do manage to last a full 10+ hours of sweating behind a bar. I have thick, dark eyebrows that I like to fill out a bit, partly because there are a couple thinner spots and partly just to up the drama. This works perfectly for that, though like with pretty much every makeup set ever, the brushes are worthless. Oh, wait, that's not true; the little spoolie has actually come in handy a couple of times. The other brush meant for application, though? Put it where you put every sponge-tipped eyeshadow applicator -- right in the trash!Using a brush I'm pretty sure I got from an old Anastasia brow kit, I use the darker shade to fill in any little bare-ish patches within my eyebrows, then use the lighter shade if I need to do any shaping towards the outer edges of the brows. Then I use the brush part of my brow and lash comb to sweep through the brows for a final shape and to make sure it looks natural and not powdery. I don't use the wax at all, just set the brow powder along with the rest of my makeup with a spritz or two of setting spray.By the end of a long shift, this has mostly faded, but like I said before, that's at least ten hours after application. At least it doesn't smear! If you're looking for something to change the shape or color of your brows, this is probably not for you, but if you just want to bump up the intensity of the brows you've already got or make them look nice and groomed without looking fake, it's not a bad buy.
