Eden Foods - Buckwheat Soba Pasta - 8 oz.

I wasn't sure I would like buckwheat and it took me a while to find a product that was 100% buckwheat and not the usually 60% white flour, which is bad for those of us with diabetes. Buckwheat is supposed to have stuff in it that helps with the blood sugar highs and also the hypoglycemic lows that often follows a meal. So far it seems to be working. The taste was interesting and if you cook it properly, follow the easy and simple directions, it makes a low glycemic sub for the high glycemic white flour noodles for something like spaghetti. I also like to use these noodles cold in a shrimp and cucumber salad. This is a bit pricey but it is so healthy; better to spend you money here on food then later at the doctors.

I found the soba noodles a good substitute for wheat pasta. The taste and texture are similar. They cook pretty much the same ‘al dente’. The big difference is soba noodles must be drained and rinsed in cold water immediately after cooking to wash off starch and prevent them from sticking together. They can be eaten hot or cold by themselves or in soups or salads, or with sauce as a main dish. The brown color of the noodles is different from wheat pasta. These are 100% buckwheat, hence the color. That is important for low carb diets and gluten sensitivity. Some soba noodles are made using buckwheat and wheat.

No need to purchase again, don't think I overcooked it, was OK first time around, but does not reheat well.

I can't find pure buckwheat soba locally (without wheat), so these are handy.They work very well under any stirfry type dish with a huge nutritional boost over pasta.If you are looking for a way to add more buckwheat to your diet, these are a good choice.

These are very small packages of noodles. I bought this brand because it is Gluten free. It is a good product, but I think based on the price I'll have to make my own.

Awful. Worst tasting 'Soba' I've ever had. Turned to glue and I cooked it for the exact amount of time. It doesn't matter because even if it did cook up well, the taste was awful. Also, I was in a hurry and clicked "one click ordering"...the seller charged me $21.75 for 3 x 8oz packages of stuff that I paid $32.54 / ea. I thought I was getting some sort of bulk ...which turned out to be 6 regular sized packages of noodles. So, including shipping...the order came to $86.83!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I paid $14.50 for each package of noodles that taste like crap. I feel like I was robbed.

It is a good gluten free product. And we will buy more. Planning to try some of their other products.

Great noodles, but the page said that it was a pack of three and I only got one package. I'm filing for a return. I'm not going to pay almost $14 for one 8oz pack of noodles.
