it can, i am an Optician and i know about glasses. these are great for laying down to read or watch tv. i am unsure if you will scratch you existing glasses with these as they are heavy, they do serve the purpose and both my daughter and myself use them :)

I know this is a late reply, but someone else may have this question. Search for "belaying" glasses. They are the same as these but allow the view to be redirected upwards. They are great for eye surgery where your head must be faced down for a long time. Your view when wearing them and facing downward will be of straight in front of you, and, unlike with a mirror, it will be oriented correctly ("correct side up"). Y&Y or BG climbing make good ones. Belaying glasses are used by rock climbers to look up without injuring their necks. There are also products which are mirrors that can help. Search for Vitrectomy mirrors. Good Luck!

Q: I want to watch TV that's mounted on the wall while doing pushups with my eyes facing the floor. Can this or another product assist with that?

You want to do pushup and watch TV between your feet? You would need to set the TV on the floor and possibly put a strap or elastic band on the glasses to keep them from falling off your face, but it would work. How many pushups can you do that you get bored while doing them? I was very proud of myself when I got to 60, but the time elapsed was only a minute or so.
