Not bad
These absolutely don't taste like real potatoes, however, they are the best alternative I have found. I have tried the cauliflower thing a couple times in a couple ways and just don't like it no matter what. These had a smooth consistency, and texture is highly important to me. The taste is similar to other instant mashed potatoes which my mother-in-law always makes so I'm used to that. I bought the same brand of thickener and made steak gravy to put over them and it wasn't bad at all. I dipped the potato covered in gravy with a bite of meat and it was like my potato days :) I did add some parmesan cheese to them and that did help. I would suggest a bit more water and a bit more cream to the mixture as they were really heavy, but you can experiment a little with that. You will most likely need gravy or something on them. I think they would be great if you make them and then fry them up into patties for hash browns too. I've ordered more bags to try that next. This is gonna save me for Thanksgiving. I have thought about mixing them a bit with some of the cauliflower to make a bigger batch, so that's next as well. :)

Better then cauli mashers
Anyone trashing these is inexperienced with keto products. Of course it isn’t like real homemade mash potatoes but pretty darn close and def better then radish, cauli or kohlrabi mashers. They are expensive so I make this mix and add and equal amount of radish or kohlrabi mashers and it’s still so good! I have made loaded potatoes and also chilled it to make potato salad! I also used it with King Arthur Keto Pizza Dough flour and just used my standard potato dumpling recipe to make potato dumplings and some smaller potato gnocchi low carb and they both turned out amazing! Think I’ll use these to make keto chicken and dumplings because all the keto dumpling recipes I have tried are awful.

not great. That said
Taste is just OK, not great. That said, for Low Carb Dieters such as myself, this product provides the ability to have potatoes occasionally. It is important to note that Instant Mashers are NOT LOW CARB, just lower carb.As a dieter who has lost 100 lbs. by going low carb, the distinctions are important.

One, only because you can't give a no star review
Hands down the worst "food" I have had in 6 months of Atkins eating, and very possibly vying for the worst thing I have EVER put in my mouth. It looks like powder, floury coming out of the package. But with some liquid it comes to a reasonable look, simulating the appearance of mashed potatoes. That is where the resemblance ends. On the first bite, you start out with the hope that here is a product you can use. Nearly immediatly you will notice the textural difference. There is a grainy dustyness that is apparent. But, its bound to be different, so you power on. Texture is only part of it, and the difference is not horrible, just different.Very very soon thereafter, your tastebuds will tell you the rest of the story. There is no "potato" taste. It tastes more akin to some sort of wheat product. Ok, whatever. But then you realise there is another taste. Something akin to alum powder. And it is horrible. So much so that you swallow quickly and wash it out, and take a rapid bite of something else to get rid of it. a few moments later, you will convince yourself that since you paid for this, you will try again. It couldnt have been all THAT bad. But it is. And the third little nibble 20 minutes later is equally horrible.Later that night you may notice that it drys more like a dough than a mash, and wonder what happens if you bake it. The answer is nothing good. Same taste. Not worth the time.Do yourself a favor and skip this product. I hate cauliflour, but even blended cauli is better than this. I am stumped to think of ANY food item that is not better than this. Not pickled pigs feet, for sure. I suppose Durian is a match, but I would literally rather eat worms. If you buy it, don't say I didn't warn you.

Great alternative for low carbs
These low carb mashed potatoes are very good, easy and fast to make. Add butter, shredded cheddar cheese or gravy. Great alternative if you are watching your carb intake!

Good flavor, but pasty consistency.
I'm on a low carb diet and wanted to try some low carb potato alternatives. This brand was mentioned in one f my recipes. They taste good but the consistency was too pasty.

Ummm
I'm trying to get you to see the texture... Well I got over excited and looked this up on my own.. What the heck if they can make vegetables taste like vegan meat then they surley can make vegetables taste like potatoes? Right? Heck No but it isn't bad... I added cream cheese and extra butter and it's pretty similar but they didn't nail it... either 50% will like it or hate it...or Maybe be in-between like me...it has this ruff fiber glass gritty taste... I can't eat them but I can see some people who will be okay with them...I'm not picky whatsoever either..

HOLY COW! DELICIOUS!
YES! YES! YES! I have been low carb 8 months and lost 50 pounds and I have missed potatoes. These are super easy to make and delicious. Very similar constancy to potatoes if you make them how I did. I followed the directions 1 cup water, 2 tablespoons of butter. Once it was thickened I added 2 tablespoons of cream cheese, some dried chives, 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, and some sea salt and pepper and holy cow, I'm in love!++Those taste just like loaded baked potatoes!!!
