The Future is Now
It’s hard to imagine, but we have reached the end of the San San Cycle. As we look towards the new big box, let’s not skip over the final Data Pack of this one. Is it a hit? Or a miss? Let’s rate all the cards and check them out to see how essential this release is.*Ancestral Imager (3) A 3/1 agenda where if the runner jacks out he takes a net damage. It’s fine. And could be used in any damage Jinteki deck. It’s fine but not setting the world on fire.*Bookmark (2.5) It’s not a terrible card. But currently it isn’t a super needed or used card. Maybe in the future.*Chronos Protocol (4) Voted into existence by European Netrunner fans, this ID is really cool. Being able to snipe specific cards out of the runners hand using net damage is awesome. Haven’t seen a lot of buzz for this card. But I think it could be a thing.*Cybernetics Court (2.5) Another mediocre card at best. It is free and you get a nine card hand size. But what are you going to use it for? Hide agendas better? Maybe better ICE for your HQ would be superior to this. Probably hard to find a deck slot for this.*DaVinci (1) So you have to get it early….and you have to make a lot of successful runs….and you have to trash it. Hard pass on this card.*DDoS (3.5) This card seems sweet. Shut down some servers on them! Almost an inside job for Anarchs.*Expo Grid (2) Another ok card. Seems underwhelming to me.*Fisk Investment Seminar (5) At first glance this doesn’t seem to be an exciting card. After all you are giving the corp free card draw. But honestly if you choose your timing on it you can flood them with agendas and take advantage of this. Super powerful card in all reality.*Franchise City (2) Take me down to that franchise city….um, actually this card isn’t great. There are better options.*Genetics Pavilion (3) Another card that takes a specific build. But could help in a kill deck.*Laramy Fisk (3) This is the ID the American Netrunners voted in. It’s ok. But he falls a little short when compared to other Criminal’s honestly.*Power to the People (1) Only can play it on the first click and you need to nab an agenda. Seems like it’s too much work to guarantee this fires.*Product Placement (3) This seems ok. Gets you some free credits. The fact that’s it an upgrade is what makes it good. It shines on centrals, not so much on remotes.*Public Support (2.5) This one is a head scratcher for me. Not sure why you would run this. I would rather score a normal agenda.*Surfer (3.5) Seen some cool builds using this card. Kit and a Paintbrush can abuse the heck out of this card.*Team Sponsorship (5) Boom! This card is very powerful. Score an agenda and get a free install. It works with ICE. But it seems to be the most backbreaking for the runner when they have paid to trash something, and you play it again for zero credits and no clicks. It alone makes this an awesome pack.*The Future Is Now (5) 3/1 agenda that tutors up cards. Fantastic card!*Tour Guide (3) So it does die to a Parasite easily. But, in builds like Gagarin, it can lock a runner out.*Wireless Net Pavilion (4) This card used with Data Leak Reversal can make for an agonizing combo deck that decimates the corp’s R&D. I have been on the receiving end of this and trust me, it hurts badly.*World’s Plaza (3) Combo card. Well at least it looks that way. Of moderate use.*Overall: (4.5) There are some smelly cards in this pack for sure. But in general it’s pretty strong. And has some cards that might be staples eventually. You could do worse than this pack. I’d recommend picking it up.
