SL3u-L Universal AUX Adapter for Compatible Toyota Vehicles

A little pricey but a nice accessory. Put in Lexus SC430. Very good sound. With Apple Music I can play anything I want in a 2002 car. It does hum occasionally and I can’t figure that out yet but moving cable seems to stop it. Integrated into stereo as described as an “Aux” appears the third time I press FM.

I just installed this for my 2006 Lexus LS430 with the Mark Levinson and Navigation. First off, the sound quality of this adapter is equal to the CD player. I am an audiophile nut and pay attention to clarity. FM modulators are garbage. I want reference quality sound. Initially, i noticed static coming from the speakers when attached to my old iphone 3gs, but when i just moved the iphone around, the static stopped, so not sure about that. But then I hooked my laptop up to the AUX jack. I use an external Sound Blaster SB0950 sound card attached to my laptop with the SL3u-L Aux, along with a playlist of acoustic guitar music. Now at this point, WOW! I am just floored by the quality. Crystal clear, no electronic background noise. I now hear every fine little detail of my sample music pouring deliciously out of the ML speakers. Truly a high quality quality adapter and worth its high sticker price.I give this adapter 4 stars for 2 reasons:1) No instructions on how to remove the center dash pieces and radio to connect the adapter. Thankfully, clublexus and youtube offer excellent tutorials on that. Removing the dash pieces on the Lexus was VERY difficult, even with dashboard removal tools This job is not for the squeamish, as I feared I was going to either destroy the wood panels or the leather dashboard in the process of prying off the dashboard.2) Once the radio is removed, it was clear to see how the adapter connects BUT, I could not get the factory wiring harness to connect to the large adapter cable, it would get stuck half way as if there was a bent pin. I chickened out trying to plug it in and brought it to an audio shop who somehow managed to get it connected. Again, the process was nerve wracking.One nice aspect in the Lexus, you can run an audio cable from the back of the radio into your glove compartment, once you take off the air filter cover. There is enough space to run it through. You might have drill a tiny hole into the air filter access panel to pass through the cable, as others have done on clublexus.You may save money doing this yourself, but NOT WITHOUT your stress levels rising. If you got the money, find a good audio shop to just get it done and relieve you of the stress.

It does the job. It's a bit expensive. Two unexpected bad things of this device--and it may bother some people--1. every time i start up the car, it now defaults to AUX, no matter what was playing on the head unit (CD, FM1, Tape, etc) when the engine was turned off. So if you have a 3.5mm jack lying around--it will have static pop/noise.2. the steering wheel controls dont' seem to pull up the AUX option. the instructions say it should, but it doesn't.Yet, overall, it does it's job--allowing me to connect my phone to my car stereo in my older model SC430 (2004).

Works great. However unit was defective. I returned and bought directly from mfg and have been happy. Same price too

Works with my 2001 LS430. I still feel like it is too much for what it does, but I was unable to find an alternative. The instructions that is came with were good and installation was not difficult.

I have the Martin Levinson sound system with the AV but without an aux plug in my 2007 Lexus LS460 Executive Edition imported from Japan recently. Easy to install, and works seamlessly, replacing the Minidisk input with the aux input. Sound is excellent. I am 100% pleased!!!!

This unit let’s me use the volume controls on my steering wheel. Easy to install and the sound is awesome!
