Color image on a pitch black night
For a while I've been setting my high end Panasonic security cameras on Max Shutter to get a color image at night, but that results in a super slow exposure time and ghost artifacts. Now I'm excited that there are Dahua cameras available with Night Color to do the same, but with a good shutter speed and frame rate. Here is an example image of our animal ranch from tonight, in pitch black darkness except for a little bit of light spilling out of the neighbor's windows. The firmware is nice and responsive on the admin web page, and has a lot of fancy analytics features. I probably won't have time to figure out most of these features, but it is nice to have them available. There is one negative (with a workaround) --The H.264 and H.265 ONVIF bitrate is limited to 8192Kbps which results in a pixelated image at 4MP when there is typical scenery change in an outdoors scene, unless the frame rate is set extremely low plus the image quality reduced. There is a workaround by setting a Region of Interest around the entire image frame with Quality 6, and it seems to bypass the max bitrate limit. It would be better for Dahua to increase the main limit. My 10 year old Panasonic cameras support higher bitrates.
