Boston Terriers For Dummies

For Dummies is usually my go to series when it comes to do it yourself and reference books but I will have to say this one let me down. It was not a horrible book and I am not upset I got it because it did have a lot of great information but this book should have been called Dogs For Dummies. The author does admit to not owning the breed and it showed. It's like she just googled a few Boston Terrier facts and just put the name Boston Terrier in the book so she could call it a Boston Terrier book. I wish they would of picked a person who knows the breed inside out. I am thinking of getting this breed and was looking to get inside a Boston Terrier's head. This book to me lacked the enthusiasm for the breed and was more of a general dog book.

This is a very good book for someone who has never owned a dog before, plus all the specifics of this breed. If you are looking for a simple book to raise your first dog that’s a BT, this is the book for you.

I really expected some serious training tips for BT's specifically and dogs in general. Big disappointment I wish I could ask for my money back. Everything in this "book" can easily be gleaned from one article on the internet. I didn't want to know the history of how they became as much as i thought special hints and tricks about BT's.

My daughter refers to this book often to learn about her Boston Terrier puppy.

In the process of getting a Boston Terrier puppy, we've read several books including the Boston Terriers for Dummys. We could have saved ourselves the trouble of the other books by just getting this one.This book had all the same information as the others, but also included detailed health discussions as well as developmental (puppy stages) information which is very helpful. It helped us understand more about proper care as well as growth and needs. It's section on training was also better than most. Highly recommended if you are just buying one book on the subject.

Helpful in getting prepared for our new BT, a lot of the information was the same as what I had read in another book. I do like the For Dummies series as they tend to be good, quick reference guides.

Learned a lot about Boston Terriers

This book is ok but a lot of it is not entirely accurate. I don't think it can fully prepare you for owning a boston !A lot of things in it are rubbish such as "never let a boston off lead" and it is based on pack theory.

fabtastic very easy reading and explains in detail every step of your dogs life and major problems bostons have which are breathing probs and eye probs

We are thinking of getting one of these American Gentlemen and this book gave me insight to a wonderful dog , it made us realise the things about the origins, what they require to have a happy healthy life with us. Great book.

Interesting read - and - great value for money

Good book and a great insight into Boston Terriers.Mostly about american not British but very usefull book to have if you intend to buy a Boston
