Powerful, versatile tool perfect for our CNC machine
The media could not be loaded. We purchased this Dobetter 6.5-amp wood router to use with our CNC machine, and I can confidently say it has exceeded all our expectations. It’s a robust, compact, and well-designed tool ideal for high-precision projects. From the very first use, the quality is evident: the motor is powerful and delivers consistent performance, allowing us to work for extended periods without overheating.Performance and power:The 6.5-amp motor provides enough power to cut through a variety of woods, from softwood to harder materials like oak or walnut. This has enabled us to achieve clean and precise cuts, even in complex projects. The motor’s stability ensures minimal vibrations, which is crucial when working with a CNC machine where accuracy is essential.Ease of use:Although we primarily use it with our CNC machine, we’ve also tested it for manual use, and it’s equally easy to handle. The ergonomic design ensures a secure grip, and its lightweight build makes it comfortable to use for extended periods. Additionally, the depth adjustment is straightforward and precise, allowing us to set it exactly as needed for detailed cuts.Compatibility with our CNC:This router fits perfectly into our CNC machine, and the precision it delivers has significantly improved the quality of our projects. We’ve tackled intricate designs, fine engravings, and repetitive cuts, and it always meets our high standards. Its compact size is ideal for fitting into our machine’s structure without adding unnecessary weight.Included accessories:The set includes several router bits of good quality, which have been useful for different types of projects. While we already have a collection of additional bits, the ones included are great for anyone starting out and needing a complete solution right out of the box.Durability and quality:After several months of constant use, the router still performs as well as it did on day one. The motor shows no signs of wear, and the casing effectively protects the internal components, even when working with fine wood dust. This gives us confidence that it will remain a reliable and durable tool over time. Conclusion:If you’re looking for a compact, powerful, and versatile router, this Dobetter model is an excellent choice. It works perfectly for both manual use and with CNC machines, offering precision, stability, and ease of use. We highly recommend it for professionals and hobbyists seeking high-quality tools for woodworking and engraving projects. It has undoubtedly been an excellent investment for our workshop!

Very Capable Trim Router
This is a very capable trim router. The slow start feature is very nice. It comes with two attachments, as well as a dust chute for a shop vac or other dust collection system (you might need an adapter) as well as a set of decent router bits in a small wooden case with a latch.Using the router: The router is solidly built, no complaints there, and feels very solid when holding it. It is not overly heavy, but it does have some weight to it because it's solidly built. There was not much vibration when holding it and it does not make a lot of noise by itself when running, even on high speed. But, depending on what type or wood you're working on and the speed of the router and bit, it can get very loud, so ear protection is a good idea, as well as wearing eye protection which goes without saying.Changing bits: The only issue I experienced is the mechanism for holding the chuck in place so the bit can be changed is cumbersome. There is a small spring-loaded push-in screw that engages a hole in the shaft of the chuck to keep it in from turning so that you can use the included wrench to loosen the chuck nut to change bits. The position of that holding screw is in a rather cumbersome location which makes it awkward to hold it in (and requires significant pressure to keep it in position) and at the same time use the wrench to loosen or tighten the nut. There's no externally connected button, for example, that engages with the push-in screw to take up the pressure off your finger and also relieve your finger from applying significant force on such a small area of the screw. The lack of a hold-down button and the position of the holding screw is at the very least an inconvenience.I found the solution is to completely remove the adjustable cage/base (which can be adjusted up/down to set the height of the base) which is very easy to do, in order to completely free the surrounding space around the chuck so that I could leverage enough force on the set screw to either tighten or loosen the nut on the chuck with the included wrench. You may be more fortunate if you can make a bit change without having to remove the cage/base, but I was not. If your projects require you to change the bit frequently this may or may not be a show stopper for you. Either way, it's an inconvenience that you'll have to deal with. Otherwise, this small hand router works as described.Router bits: I tried a few of the included router bits which has a varied selection and comes in a nice wooden case with a latch. I tried the 4 bits on softwood (pine). I can't say if they're tungsten tipped (not likely) but they seem to do the job. Of course you'll likely use your own or purchase a high-quality set if you're going to be doing any significant amount of routing, especially on hard woods.Accessories: I did try the edge-guide and it works. I did not try the vacuum attachment.Overall, it's solidly built, seems to do the job, and with the exception of the difficulty I had with changing bits, it seems to be a decent hand held router for the price. In terms of reliability, well time will tell.I would have given it a 5 star overall, were it not for the issues with changing bits, but again, you may have a better experience with it than I did.
