Easy Setup
I needed a Z-Wave switch to control our outside landscape lights. I tried using 2 different light sensing switches, but they don't always work the way I would like. This Z-Wave switch connected easily to my old hub, Vera Lite, on the first try. I've had it for less than a week, but it works flawlessly so far. I programmed the controller to turn it on just before sunset and off a few hours later. Works I L ke a charm!

Had one fail after heavy rain and the company sent me a new one!
This works well except that mine is a little hard to keep on my network. I guess it's a range problem. But, when it works, it works great. Mine died after heavy rain (I think rain went down into the socket). The company very quickly answered my inquiry and send me a new one which is great. Thanks!

Great solution for our outdoor patio lights
Quickly hooked into our existing zwave setup. Dims fast and so far no issues with the weather.

Works well for lights, doesn't work for holiday rotating ones for some reason.
I now own 2 of these (I've been using one for years on my outdoor lights), but for some weird reason (likely to do with the way it switches the AC circuit) it doesn't work with holiday rotating lights, the kind where it shines a light and the projected image rotates. It must be the dimmer portion messing with the 60hz frequency normally present in the line. Any rotating holiday light light I plug in doesn't rotate (even at full brightness). Works well otherwise and pairs easily.

Alexa, turn on the fountain.
I have several indoor Minoston smart plugs. I needed one for the patio to control a water fountain. These work great with my Qolsys IQ alarm panel & alarm.com automation.

Unreliable
Had the for a couple of months and it loses connectivity DAILY! This makes it useless a a Z-Wave device as the only was to rejoin the network is to physically activate the switch or unplug and replug in. Occationally it rejoins on its own but as a Z-Wave switch this is unreliable.

Running my Christmas lights automatically = WINNING
I like the "easy" way of running these types of things, and that involves as much complicated automation equipment as possible every time. My wife rolls her eyes when I explain how cool this will be whenever I get some gadget like this to make something go on/off without our manual efforts. She just pats me on the shoulder and says "that's nice, dear". LOL. This unit works great with my Z-Wave automation hub, which also connects to Apple's "Home" app on our mobile devices. Connecting the new unit to the existing Z-Wave network was simple, they provided the printed directions in the box. I then set my automation hub to make the Minoston unit to follow an automated schedule of "ON" at sunset, "OFF" at sunrise and all my Christmas lighting follow suit. Easy Peasy, right! Works perfect so far, I would recommend this unit for anyone looking for a low cost unit for outdoor installs. I have another wi-fi based outdoor switch that hasn't been so reliable, I'll probably replace it with one of these if the Minoston proves to be a more solid performer.

Good Z-Wave Device, simple to pair to HomeAssistant, reliable, good value
I use a number of these primarily for outdoor lights (string lights, holiday lighting, etc). After having my GE/Jasco Z-wave outlets begin failing, I've switched back to standard GFCI outlets and just use these Z-wave dongles.Out of the gate, Z-wave devices are typically more expensive than Wifi or Zigbee, but I like the mesh network capabilities and the fact that it runs on the 800-900MHz band so as to not to interfere with my WiFi network. These dongles are reliable, pair easily to HomeAssistant (Zwave2mqtt) and Samsung SmartThings, and I haven't had one die yet after 3+ years.
