I've only used this for a month but so far so good. I guess I don't really know what I'm looking for. They seem to work well. My bonsai is already 12 so it is already pretty big. I really like that it comes with directions and comes in a ziploc bag. Good amount for the money.

Received this and it was completely different than pictured although it contained application instructions and the Bonsai Boy label. Called Bonsai Boy who took the time to explain that other sellers frequently hijack their listings and sell inferior & imitation products that could have never been created by Bonsai Boy since they don't sell to anyone else but the end consumer. The bag I received was multi-colored pellets while this picture is one homogeneous color. The owner explained that the multi-colored pellets contain fertilizer designed to work in a variety of conditions (humid, dry, cool, hot, etc.) since everyone's application is going to be different. The single color is designed to work in a static, unvarying, perfect environment like a greenhouse - which very few people own, it is not available at the big box garden supply stores. He said if you truly want Bonsai Boy products, it has to be ordered and sold via Bonsai Boy otherwise you are taking a chance.

I would have liked it better if the directions were on the package. They are in the listing about this on Amazon and tilting my head I was able to read it. I have not yet used it, but I have only had my bonsai tree for 36 hours and I wand to wait until it has had more light (I started the light about 5 hours ago when it arrived) and I also want it to have more water. Watering is supposed to be done in the evening (according to the bonsai book I also got from Amazon), but the bonsai came in a ceramic container with a hole in the bottom and I watered it 36 hours ago and it is sitting in a pan with water around it and I put a little more near the stem just now. I hope the unlabeled fertilizer works. The tree also came from 9GreenBox, but it had a small direction card with it and was packed very well.

I knew my tree needed fertilizer, so far this one is working well. It had filled out and the leaves are bigger then ever. It says not to fertilize in Jan or Feb, but I did anyway cause it was looking so sad.

This fertilizer is dissolving right away. It is supposed to be time released.Appearance: white(98%) with a few black pellets (2%). The white pellets dissolve within 5 minutes.I used it on 2 juniper Nanas because they were beginning to show slight yellowing, ready for fertilizer. I applied the fertilizer and the bonsais did not green up it, only continued to yellow. I have some remaining fertilizer from another company that I used which did the job and provided the nutrients.This fertilizer is not a good quality, it's mostly made of a filler and then a few pellets. After the product failed I tested it by placing it in water. Within a few minutes the white pellets dissolved leaving only a few black pellets.

Easy directions for use. It pulled one of my sickly bonsai out of its long time slump. I love it for this act alone!

this is really high quality fertilizer and a bargain for what it costs and the shipping was free. the amount you get is also impressive, it is slow release so the bag will last for many many months. Kudos bonsai boy
