SCAM, THESE ARE NOT WATERPROOF, they are repackaged and sold as waterproof
THIS IS A SCAM, THEY ARE NOT WATERPROOF, THEY ARE REGULAR IPODS PURCHASED FROM APPLE AND THEN RE-SOLD AS WATERPROOF!I am currently on my 5th replacement and THIS ONE didn't work straight from the box!!Below is a copy of the E-Mail that was just sent to them today (March 1, 2017) and below that is my prior review before I gave them this last chance!I received the new iPod and it's defective!!When I connect it to my PC (which has all the recent updates, and the most recent version of iTunes) first I get a message telling me that it detected an iPod in recovery mode and it tells me to restore it, after I click on "restore iPod I get an error message telling me "The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1439)"I am so done with your product, at this point I just want my money refunded. It's bad enough that I was stupid enough to purchase another one after the first one broke and then another after that. I have then had 2 replacements since then and they ALL do the same exact thing a few days after getting wet. THEY all malfunction, first the playlist selection button stops working, then the volume control stops working, and then it completely goes dead.I think you are running a scam and purchasing iPods from Apple and then turning around and telling people they are waterproof and selling them for $125There is no way that this has happened so many times.Just refund my money already and I will send this piece of garbage back to you!I have been through 3 of these, every time I have replaced it and went on vacation with it, after the 3rd-4th day they have all stopped responding. I do not know if by "waterproof" it means for rainwater or pool water. But in the Caribbean Sea they will break! I purchased a Diver brand MP3 for 1/3 the price of this and it has lasted through 4 trips to Aruba and in the sea at least 2 times a day each time and still works like a charm. Don't waste your money on this expensive and faulty MP3 player! The only good thing I can say is that they have a wonderful return policy, But how many times do you want to return a defective device for a replacement?!!!!!! PLEASE READ!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM!!!I wish I had ability to give a minus 0 star!!!! Read my old review below. And here's an update!!! updating my review yet AGAIN, THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM ON MY 4th replacement, it was ok when I was in Aruba in September (however I wasn't in the water as much, if it was wet 10 times in one week I'm being generous, was definitely less times) I am now in Aruba again 2 months later and I'm actually taking time while ON my vacation to write this!!! I arrived on Sunday, it was in the water with me for an hour on Monday, again on Tuesday, it's currently 9:45am Atlantic time and it's playing but none of the controls are responding, can't control volume, can't skip a song, I can't even pause!!DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE IF YOU INTEND ON HAVING A WET MUSICAL VACATION!!However my Diver brand MP3 still works perfectly 3 years later (the only pain in the butt is having to convert your iTunes songs to MP3 files)BUT ITS WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT, THIS ITEM IS GARBAGE,I am going to take my $25 apple mini in the water and sacrifice it to see if does the same thing as this, if it lasts 2 days in water, this waterfi is a scam, it's just a regular iPod mini! I will keep you all posted!!!The ONLY ITEM that is worth it on here are the earbuds (not the ones that come with it, the ones in the photo below)their return and warranty policy is great, but it kind of sucks when you are away on vacation and it stops working after the 4th day, they replaced it with no problem, but on my 2nd vacation same thing! So I guess the saying is true Water and Electronics do not mix!

A Super Toy. Works Great. Underwater Sound is Surprisingly Good. Buttons Are a Bit Stiff. Hard to Seat the Earbuds Properly.
I'm swimming laps for a longer time now. "OK... Just one more song... Just one more." Pop songs tend to run for 3'30", so two more songs is another 7 minutes of swimming. The Waterfi iPod Shuffle works well, as advertised. I'm giving it five stars, but note that 1) The buttons are a bit stiff, and 2) The earbuds unseat from time to time. If the buds unseat, you can't hear anything.I don't know that there is anything that Waterfi can do about the earbud seating problem. The iPod portion of the system is just a regular iPod, with stiffer buttons. I sync it to iTunes on my Mac, just as I do with any iPod and iPhone. It takes a bit of experience to get the earbuds to stay in place. If they move the wrong way, you'll get water in your ear, and you you won't be able to hear anything. When that happens, I have to pull out the earbud, tap it against my hand to get the water out, and then find a better way to seat it into my ear. If I push it in too far, I won't be able to hear anything. There's an art to getting the buds in properly. Try the Pyle accordion-style earbud tips. They might work better for you.Sometimes I can swim for 30 minutes without an earbud glitch, and sometimes the earbuds need adjustment after two laps. Note -- they are NOT for diving, jumping into the deep end, or doing flip turns. Also, tucking the excess wires into the straps on the goggles takes a bit of experience. The Velcro "system" that Waterfi provides isn't helpful. I took me a while to figure out a way to wind the excess cord, and tuck it into my goggles straps. That takes some experience until I found the best way. Also, getting the feel of where to clip the iPod onto my goggle straps, and how to reach the buttons blindly, took a bit of experience. But after using the gizmo for a week, I got the hang of the buttons, the wires, and the earbuds. The Waterfi iPod Shuffle came with one set of waterproof earbuds (plus Apple's regular earbuds). The sound quality is fine. It's surprising to me that I can hear the music just fine underwater. And when you mix the music sound with the noise of the water and breathing, the sound quality doesn't much matter.I bought a couple of different types of earbuds, with different earbud tips. The accordion plugs on the Pyle earbuds sometimes fit me better. I alternate the earbuds. The photos on the site, when I purchased the Waterfi iPod, showed the accordion-style earbuds. But Waterfi supplied different buds. I emailed Waterfi and asked for accordions. They promptly sent them to me by mail.All-in-all, this is a great toy for swimming laps. It really works.

Best gadget found for swimming
I did a lot of research into what the best music players for swimming would be. I'd tried the KK Electronics 4gb MP3 player. The main unit stopped turning on after three uses. They company is replacing the main unit, but it feels cheap and I doubt it will work longer. I've only used the Ipodswim twice now and the fit and sound are perfect. I've read many reviews where people say the headphones don't fit tightly, but I haven't had this problem. However, the swimming cap I wear keeps the headphones in place. Would highly recommend for anyone who looks at listening to music as a way of helping the laps go by!
