Please note that the signal generator can provide up to 100 mW of power which can be detected a long distance in direct line of sight, in an environment with low noise and proper antennas for the frequency of transmission in both the transmitter and receiver. Not fully sure, for signal tracking the manual says you need their spectrum analyzer as well. this unit is a signal generator and should be able to generate a CW in the GPS frequency ranges for you if that's what you are looking for. But if you want to observe GPS frequencies you'll need a spectrum analyzer anyway. I think the range for GPS signals is between 1GHz to 1.7GHz but don't quote me I'm not familiar with Lband.
