You cannot chop a whole potato as shown. I peel and cut my potato into 5-8 slices (depending on size of cubes I want and size of potato). Then I put 1 slice in and hit it with my hand until it has sliced that piece. It's GREAT. Fast way to cube potatoes for soup. HIGHLY recommend.
