This rug absorbs all the sweat
I can’t recommend it highly enough for vinyasa practitioners who sweat so much they find themselves slipping on their mat.

Didn't last
Pretty rug, does not tear up your hands like other brands. After the third wash I thought it would be safe to wash it with other stuff, but it stained my towels started too fall apart.

Good added grip, nice quality, durable
I got this because my hands tend to slip to cover my mat and it's doing that job nicely. Appears to be pretty heavy duty and durable.

I love it!
This yoga rug is durable, well made, has a tight weave and, as a plus, I like the colors of the pattern. The point of the tight weave is to provide grip, not necessarily to provide creature comfort. That’s why I rated it only 3 stars on comfort. It would slip on a tile or hardwood floor, so it is best to use with a yoga mat. My mat was old and was losing some of its stickiness. I am glad this rug to use with it. This rug is excellent and I look forward to using it for years to come.

I'd shop for a rug from a different manufacturer next time.
I purchased this same rug, same color scheme, a couple of years ago. The dye bled on the first rug, I returned it, the dye bled on the replacement rug, but I made do with it, mainly because the actual fabric and weave are satisfactory for asanas. The dye on the newer rug (third rug in a couple of years), purchased in the past week, bled much quicker and more significantly than the older rugs. What I find most concerning is that in all three cases, a year or two apart, the customer service department at Hugger Mugger is unwilling to acknowledge the problem. For the reps to refuse to believe that it's possible for the dye to bleed communicates that they are either unwilling to test an item in inventory to verify that the defect exists, or they're aware of the problem but are frankly unwilling to acknowledge the problem. To a lesser degree, but also concerning, is that this change for the worse in an identical product over time raises the question as to whether Hugger Mugger's production costs are dropping, i.e. they're producing a poorer quality product while charging the same price for the product, all the while during inflation.

It’s pretty but I actually found it more slippery than my yoga mat

Yoga Rug Review
The rug is exactly as advertised. It is a little longer and a little wider than a regular yoga mat, which is just what I like. The material is study, tightly woven, and the seams on the ends are good. I have washed it once, as I do my 5 year old yoga rug, in cold water and hang to dry, to avoid shrinkage. The colors did not fade or run. Also, the tight weave did not shed fibers in the wash. The brown/tan mix is restful in appearance. It is still a bit stiff, but with a few months usage and and few more washings, it will soften up.....as the old one did.In wide-leg poses, I often flip the rug half off my sticky mat for a more stable grip; but with sweaty feet, it's better than the sticky mat. When on hands and knees, sitting on it, or in savasana, it feels better than a sticky mat. This kind of rug is not meant to provide much cushioning. It's thick, tight weave is truly similar to any good floor rug....which makes it very durable. I use it on top of my sticky mat, and for additional knee cushioning (like in gate/parighasana pose)I folding both mats over double does the trick.

Love this yoga rug
First off, I put this over my yoga mat. It will slide around on smooth flooring. But I expected that and will not let it affect the scoring. It is a beautiful eye catching rug. So much so I find myself debating having a second as it does go well in my living room.Like many, I'm sure, I looked around at different yoga rugs. Trying to find something that expressed me, at least compared to the rest. I have a yoga mat but they can just be uncomfortable after a point. This has a very bold dark burgundy "stripe" in the middle which is vivid and somehow not out of place with the softer colors.

Great quality yoga rug!
This yoga rug has a great quality- it works really well for standing or inverted asanas: it is much easier to keep your balance on it rather than on PVC mats. Just a word of caution for people with tender skin: it’s a bit rough, so be careful not to damage your skin when practicing let’s say Patangasana or Shishushupalasana.

Exactly as advertised
Not soft, or even smooth... I would not be happy with this as a yoga mat. Happily, that isn't what I bought it for.

Esta muy bueno, solo hay que lavarlo bien ya que suelta mucha pelusa al principio
