These string lights are just what I was looking for when I decided to ditch traditional Christmas lights that go up for a month or two out of the year, and instead semi-permanently install these on the house and program them to represent several holidays or occasions! They are a bit finicky to install because they are so small, and the wire is kind of springy. But they work very well! And for being RGB LEDs in only a 2-wire setup, they are impressively customizeable! All of the customizeable modes can use only the 7 basic LED colors (red, blue, green, yellow, cyan, magenta, cool white), but this is understandable given that these LEDs are attached to only a 2-wire bus. Still, to be able to pick up to 3 colors with motion (or up to 6 colors on still) is awesome for these tiny things! The color is fully customizeable only for showing a still single color over the entire string. The remote control works well too; however, it does not contain nearly as many functions as the Magic Hue app does. The USB controller is about the size of a flash drive and draws very little power to run all of these LEDs. They are weatherproof; however, please don't do what I originally did and wind them around metal mounts - the enamel coating can wear off of the wires, causing a short circuit and rust to develop. I've sinced switched to plastic-coated hooks and have had no issues! I recommend these for a variety of uses!

When I received these I took them out of the box, plugged them in pointed the remote at them and walla all is working. The remote is somewhat intuitive. Great now lets hook it up to the wifi. Get the instructions out. Their a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 folded paper. Now try to read it. The text is so small that I could not read it with a magnify glass. I scaned it into a PDF at 600 DPI. I could just about read it on the computer. They give you a cell phone code to scan, but my cell pjone does not do that. If you look at the Amazon description, this device has no name. I finally find Magic Home and go to the Apple store. I find the Magic Home app, install it and it's easy tp set up an walla I can control the lights with my Ipad. Ok, on to Alexa. There is no mention of Alexa in the instruction. Go online and ask how do I connect Magic Home to Alexa. It's easy to see that other people had this problem. I find out Alexa has a SKILL for this. Go to the Alexa app skills, find it , enable it and walla Alexa can control it, turn it on and off and change the colors. Every thing was fairly easy once you knew what to do. I gave this a 3 star because this manufactor tried making the instructions as small as possible and tried to use as little ink as possable. They allso say as little as possible Well they may have saved 1/3 of a cent. After getting this all set up, it is working well. This device does not come with a power supply, or at least mine did not.The connection to power is via a USB connector. I have a few old Ipad chargers hanging around so that was not a problem for me. So if you order this, download the Magic Home app, and if you want Alexa to control ii go to the Aleza app and turn on her skill. I did see one complaint that the lights are not very bright. These are mode lights, they are not made to light up a room.Sory for the verbose report, but I hope it helps future buyers.

The media could not be loaded.  + Perfectly complement my little tree.+ Remote and set up Home App are straight forward (though took me 2 tries to get through the app, I guess mainly because of my network connection.)+ Plenty of modes to try, though I mostly used fade, jumping , and smooth. There're also timer function via the app.- the length is a little long for my tree, though it will be perfect with taller ones and other decorations.- limited number of timers can be set (5 or 6 max.)- triple copper wires took a bit of efforts to be untangled IF you ran it the first tiem then later need anothet set up.- Wish it came with a 110-240V adaptor for USB plug. I have some laying around so no biggie. Also, it works fine with portable/back up battery pack, I tested with the pack to make sure it works before running it on my tree.= Overall, I would buy more and recommend.

This is the third set of these lights I've bought. The hardware seems solid, the app is pretty good but there's room for improvement.Pros: - nearly invisible when not lit; - bright colors; - easy to setup and program - flexible operation - fair price - really fast deliveryCons: - Lights all flash to white when executing a timed change from one program setting to another, even when dimming to a lower level of the same color. Irritating! - Color settings reset to 100% white when you access the setting page in the app, even if you don't save it. So you can't keep a selected color when changing the brightness from the previously programmed setting. Irritating! - No way to reproduce color settings, other than by reading tiny RGB values at the time you first set the color. If you try to go back to it to read the value, it changes it to the default white 100%. - No way to store favorite colors for later recall. - Fat USB plug doesn't fit tight spacings;

My boyfriend has ordered these like 3 times already. We love them, they were delivered fast and came in a box, not in a bag like most things have been lately. They last forever, we have them out in our balcony and they've been a few hurricanes, lots of rain and all kinds of different weather and still working great.I ordered my daughter some and she loved them.

One strand worked perfect. Second strand didn't work at all

Makes a great set of fairy lights for my daughter’s reading tent. Love all the color choices and the fade and flash options on the remote and even more colors through the app. I wish there was a way to sync to music other than through microphone on the app but that feature is still super fun. The wire fairy lights make them easy to tangle when wound together but that also makes them easy to bend to fit the shape you want. Overall I love these lights and would buy again!
