Can this box work without the cable outlet on the back of the tv?

I have an older TV that only has UHF/VHF antenna connections. There is a UHF/VHF converter adapter that allows you to plug in coax cable. If this box allows coax out to the TV you can use the adapter. Look for the adapter on here. Does the converter box help pick up tv station's.

I bought the converter box because my TV is twenty years old and is not capable of picking up a digital signal. The converter box with an ANTENNA makes it possible for me to get the over the air free stations. If you have a newer TV the digital converter is built in the TV set and you should not need the converter box. All you will need is an antenna.
