Easy Butterfly Origami: 30 Pre-Printed Butterfly Designs! (Dover Crafts: Origami & Papercrafts)

Love the paper, I’ve been practicing butterflies. Paper is sturdy and can handle newbies trying to figure out the bends without ruining the whole process. Plus it looks good even if the folds are halfway backwards because the paper is so interesting and pretty.

Made these with one of my smaller 6th grade art classes for an easy end of the year project. Origami can be tricky to teach in a class setting but these with the printed instructions gave us an edge. The class of 10 with my instruction and assistance was able too make 2 in a 45 minute session with several students able to complete the second on on their own. With one to take home and the other 2 display the butterflies made a nice addition to our mini Summer inspired paper installation.

It is certainly easy to fold these models since they are all the same folding pattern. The paper is beautiful and the description of each butterfly is a nice addition. The only drawback is that the paper is heavy and tends to rip on the last fold because of the thickness of the layers. I solved this by putting a small piece of clear tape on the model just before that last fold. The group of 30 butterflies look wonderful.

My mom has tremors in her hands but was able to fold these butterflies during a long hospital stay. Added a bit of brightness to the room.

Use for mindfulness therapy

The pages of beautiful colorful designs and the prospect of what they could become drew me to this book of origami butterflies. I am saving these activities to share with young visitors for a mutually enjoyable experience.

I bought this set for my nephew after our trip to the butterfly farm in Aruba. He loved how easy it was to make the butterflies in this kit.

Not origami paper, more like thick magazine paper that doesn't fold well

When it is folded it looks very realistic.

Bought this second hand - like new. & it was. and it will be again.Disappointing as you only learn how to fold 1 butterfly shape. I didn't realise that this was a kit rather than a book. once you have used each printed design.. that's it done.
