DevaCurl No Comb Detangling Spray; 8oz

In fairness, this is my first Deva curl purchase...too expensive for me on a regular basis! I have very long, colored, not quite curly but not straight hair, and due to my poor health, I go way too long between washes. It gets very matted and tangled, and just trying to comb it out before showering is a nightmare! So, combing it out before showering was partly my motivation behind this purchase, but I had also hoped to use it in between washes. That, unfortunately, will definitely not be happening! I sprayed it all over and started trying to comb, but it didn't work until I let it set for a few minutes. After I did, I was pleasantly surprised to find it much easier than usual to detangle...BUT OMG THE SMELL! I was quite literally gagging, and developed a blistering headache very shortly thereafter! To me, it smells exactly like hair dye...super potent, and it does NOT fade away. There's no way that I could or would use this for anything other than immediately before a shower...it's really that bad. My kids were yelling the whole time, "WHATS THAT AWFUL SMELL?", and it hung around for hours...not a good thing, especially in our teeny, tiny apartment! So, while it did assist in the combing out process quite well, considering the price and it's limited use for me, it's just not worth it. If it didn't have that incredibly strong hair dye odor, it would definitely be a must have, but I just can't get past it as is. Sigh...the quest for the perfect detangler continues...

I get really bad knots and causes me to break my hair. I tried this product and it didn’t help release the knots. I’m definitely returning it!

This product, much like the Wash Day Wonder, detangles really well. However, the smell is terrible and very potent. It smelled up my bathroom before I even took it out of the plastic packaging, and it didn’t leak during shipping to justify such a strong odor outside of the bottle. It has a strong sour smell, almost like fruit going bad or like it was meant to be a sweet smell. Instead it just smells like it went bad or expired. I have it 4 stars still because as a detangler, it’s great and has just the right amount of slip (I have 4B hair by the way). But I’ll only use this as a pre-shampoo or pre-conditioner detangler. There’s no way I could stomach walking around with my hair smelling this way on a curly style day. It’s the smell that won’t fade!

I've been dying to try this, because I've been wondering what the hype was all about..I have thick, curly hair & have tried several detanglers... DevaCurl REIGNS!!!! This detangler can handle my knots & sometimes they are awful....so,, I give this detangler 10 stars! I've found my answer,, the scent is different, but it is fresh..love, love LOVE this!!!!<8

My daughters hair is so curly. She has the nice spiral curls like porcelain dolls. But since she has thin hair it tangles a lot. I also use the shampoo and conditioner from this brand. There amazing. Also the gel. I will continue to repurchase this product.

This product dried out my curly hair and made it sticky. For the price, I would expect more.

I was surprised that this product really detangles well on my hair. I didn't have to use much of it and it sprays from the bottle pretty well like a large mist. The smell is okay. I used the devaCurl decadence no poo & conditioner with this on wet hair, waited a minute or two and I was able to detangle my hair easy and remove knots without a lot of effort. If you want to know I'm AA with type 4 hair that is very knotty and tangled.

I'm not sure what is different for everyone else that loved this product but I found it sticky and it did not encourage detangling or provide any slip. No way I would use this as a leave-in. It left my hair looking greasy and sticky. I used it on half of my hair and had to immediately shampoo it out because I couldn't stand the feeling on my face or hands.

Didn't really like this product. Makes your hair pretty sticky.

My hair is thin and curly. This spray helps me to detangle without breaking them, which is great.

first time I tried this product. love all deva curl products.all products I tried so far worked fine, this one also works pretty well. did not try it too often yet.delivery was very fast this time.

This product really does detanglr the hair.
