EX 10355C A/C Expansion Valve, Silver

Fit and works perfect. This can be replaced thru the firewall no need to remove from inside car under dash. Good youtu.be videos available.

This valve seems very nicely made. Nice finish, good machining. I give it all the stars for that. One complaint: These are supposed to be insulated, but manufacturers won't spend the three cents to put insulated tape around it like OEM has. As a result you have to delicately remove the insulation from the old one with a razor and then tape it onto the new one, which never works exactly right. C'mon guys, stop cutting the pennies on important stuff like this.

The price was right. I replaced this on a 2008 Honda Civic's A/C evap core, just to have the entire installation brand new (I replaced all other components, too). Not my first rodeo, BTW... I'm not convinced this particular valve is engineered at its best (it's decent, it does its job, but could be better) - I found that the factory original valve performed a little better... but didn't feel like disassembling the whole thing, just to re-assemble and re-charge... So it stayed in.

After installing this I encountered what looked like obstruction issues, based on the pressures. Low suction pressure, high discharge pressure, with the compressor cycling on/off faster than expected. In chasing down the problem I replaced a bunch of stuff, including this valve with another one from this same provider. Same behavior, with lots of wasted time. In other words either BOTH of these valves from this same provider were defective, or they are not spec'd properly for an '06 Civic. I eventually bought the valve from Honda directly, and it worked exactly as expected. All pressures and temperature readings were within +/- 5% of expected.

Old one was clogged and leaking, this one fit right in, and keeps the air blowing nice and chilly.

Item was not delivered with O-rings which was very inconvenient.

Seems like a direct replacement to the Denso.

Seems poorly calibrated from factory. AC only gets down to 41 degrees will be buying a different brand.

So far so good. Installed with new a/c compressor. Price point is fair but just not as high of quality as OEM
