LVL LED Ceiling Light 24W 2600lm Natural White 4000K Round D300mm Modern Surface Mount Ceiling Lamp for Living Room Hallway Kitchen Bedroom

Wanted a replacement for the fluorescent light in the downstairs toilet. Given the relatively low ceiling (just over 2.1metres) headroom was an issue, and I really didn't want to start installing recessed lights into the ceiling. So I opted for a thin LED replacement. Having gradually replaced all the house lights with LED equivalents over the past few years I was reasonably confident this light would be appropriate and although there were lights with greater wattages, I didn't need that sort of power for the location. The light itself was plastic, with the LEDs set into an enclosed compartment covered by a frosted white plastic shade with a rim of white plastic. I was less than 2.5cm deep and when in place was flush against the ceiling. Installation was a breeze: I isolated the circuit, removed the old light (which fell apart as I removed it!), installed the ceiling clip for the new light by screwing it to the ceiling, connected the light's wiring to the lighting circuit, installed the light onto the ceiling clip and restored the lighting circuit. And it worked. So now we have instant lighting that is colour temperature appropriate (not too mellow, not too clinical) which avoids being in the way on a low ceiling. Done!

The BadThe 2 lights that I received and installed are NOT 4000k, the colour is more like 2700k (and at best 3000k).Pretty disappointing.These have been installed on top of the cabinets and the colour looks out of place in contrast to my existing cool white (6000k) under cabinet lights.Pictures for reference are these lights installed above cabinets with 6000k lights under cabinetSame picture with 3000k LED Spotlights turned on (for colour comparison) and a colour chart for reference.The cable tails are a bit too short, especially when you consider the cost of cable. I have had 3 of these fitted in my kitchen and they give off a good bright light. They are very slim and therefore unobtrusive and blend in well with the white ceiling. My husband had no problems with installation, apart from the fact that our ceiling isn't as flat as the lights so there is a bit of a gap on one side. Would recommend.

Worked great a bright led light that is thin and small. It would have been better if the wires were a thicker gauge and a block was included.

Easy to fit two wires no problem for a good DIY enthusiast , low profile fitting for use in a low ceiling area, much easier than having to cut into the ceiling took a maximum of 15 minutes to fit
