Perfect office mouse
Although this mouse is marketed as a gamer mouse it lacks all of the gamer nonsense. No RGB LEDs, no fancy software that breaks after the next upgrade - this simply works as you would expect. Good sensor, slippery feet, a few settings (there are 2 buttons on the bottom of the mouse) and 2 buttons on the side. This is what I expect from a mouse I use every day. I think this is the best wired mouse currently for everyday use. Is it a good gamer mouse? I don't know. I'm not a gamer. The only con I could think of is the feedback of the current DPI setting: there is a LED under the mouse (above the DPI changer button) and the color of this LED tells you what is set. You need to read the manual to know which color means which setting. At the other side there is a button to change the refresh rate and there is a single LED for every setting so you don't need to read the manual to interpret this. I wish the DPI setting feedback would be similar.

Zowie EC1: The Endgame
I’ve been using the wrong sized mice for years, and I had no clue I had been. I just thought all mice were terrible. My most prevalent mice have been cheap, basic optical/laser mice. My first gaming mouse was a Logitech G700 and my most recent office/ergonomic mouse was the Logitech MX Master. The G700 aggravated me, massively, because my pinky would constantly trail along my mousemat. The MX Master resolved this, but had extremely poor latency. All of these woes have been resolved by simply using the Zowie EC1. The ergonomic design is sublime (and somewhat borrowed from Microsoft). Zowie-BenQ have achieved something spectacular here by creating a Final Boss for all other mice to beat, but none have come close. The Zowie EC1 mouse is, quintessentially, at the peak of ergonomics. It is absolutely perfect for anyone with, ‘Large’ hands. Even if you’re not a gamer, this mouse is perfect for productivity. So don’t be dissuaded by it’s lauded gaming heritage. I use this as my daily driver for work and play. One of the best features is not even the handling of the mouse itself, but it’s distinct lack of drivers. There is no requirement for install OTT bloatware, just to adjust your DPI or program buttons. The parameters you need to adjust are literally at your finger tips. Set the polling rate to 1000Hz and forget about it. Set the DPI to your requirements (mousemat size depending) and you’re away. I bought a Corsair MM300 Medium and use an easy-going 800DPI for both my desktop and gaming these days; as opposed to the 1600DPI I was used to, previously. For a sizing guide: My hands are 210mm long and 235mm in circumference or 115mm-ish along knuckles (including thumb; squeezed in) in breadth. My hands fill a size 9 (or Large) glove easily and I can wear a Size 10 (or XL) with a bit of wiggle room. If that describes you, then do not hesitate to buy the EC1, right now.

Good, but doesn't live up to it's reputation - 6 month review
First and foremost, this mouse is the perfect size for someone with large hands, however, for me, it wasn't a great fit. My biggest issue with the EC1 is the material, the build quality is of a high standard, the weight is perfect, and so is the size. Despite this, the mouse has never felt great to use. My sole, and major gripe, is the coating used on the body of the mouse. I'm someone with fairly oily/ clammy hands and find that very quickly the surface becomes uncomfortable and difficult to keep a tight grip. This is an issue I have never encountered across a variety of other brands. The lack of a rubber grip on the side, standard with most other mice, has made me never feel like I'm in full control, both moving my cursor on the web, and when gaming. The build quality of this mouse is unparalleled, however, it just wasn't the right one for me.

This mouse feels perfect.
I didn't realise until I got this mouse that I've probably been using mice smaller for my hands all my life, I got the EC1 and it just feels perfect and incredibly comfortable, I love the lack of software and drivers and the simplicity and comfort of this so far. I spent a couple of hours yesterday in CSGO adjusting to this new mouse and already it just feels so smooth and accurate (might just be placebo) but I've used other high end gaming mice from Logitech and Razer, and never thought another mouse would replace my Logitech g403 so easily.

You don't have to break the bank
I also have the Zowie S2 in blue and love it. So once I build my PC. I wanted to stop taking the mouse in and out from my PC to my Macbook. That is how I got this one. Now I have always wanted to have a so-called Ego mouse, so finding out Zowie made one, defo had my attention. I am a palm grip, and my hand feels great on it. With many modes for multiple refresh rates, I can do my day to day tasks and play Halo, CS:GO and Rainbow with ease. Easy to do flicking shots and 180s like nothing. Shame my monitor can't support higher refresh rates. But I was able to test it at a friends place, and it worked perfectly. I am relishing, pleased and admiring this mouse.

Good for big hand
It's very good except for the low polling rate of the rollers, I have relatively big hands and it's very comfortable to use.

Make it better
Fantastic mouse shape. Built for purpose and precise. Its a heavy mouse and has low quality cable. Rating lower as scroll wheel is bad for the price and release date, and the next model EC1-C fixes some problems but doesn’t seem to have a better scroll wheel (just more steps?). Love it 👍
