Pet-corp Magnetic Cat Door Pc6-w

Great cat door - We had to have our window totally replaced in order to use the window as the entry for our cat so be prepared for this added cost. Also if you have cats in the neighborhood who have a magnetic collar they can get into your cat door if you use the magnet so we are going to move to the chip so that our cat is the only one who can use the door.

The problem with this door is it is impractical. The magnet hangs onto the cat collar and it must basically brush the base of the door at the same time the cat pushes in. So, in short unless your cat is not only super crafty but has an extremely short neck/head, the locking mechanism does not work. I have it to stars as the door is nice looking and works as a non locking cat door. But in retrospect, with the price I should have given it one star. This product does not work.

This door does NOT work for a small dog. I read other reviews and thought it would based on responses. I have small Yorkie that has used a magnetic collar door for the last 5 years. We just moved and I couldn't find the door we had before so I bought this one. The magnet has to dangle and drag across the door threshold. Because a dog does not crouch through openings but uses his snout to push open the door, the magnet could not get close enough to open. UNFORTUNATELY, we did not know this until the door was professional installed. This door needed extra framing to put into the wall. It cost a few hundred dollars to install! BOY what a mistake on my part.
