"Jumps the fence of Rock & Roll High School, the ATX quartet bruising runaways all, shaving when The Donnas were still leading cheers." -- AUSTIN CHRONICLE Sparkle Motion is a new band from Austin composed of former members of Slum City and The Applicators--great, female-fronted punk reminiscent Nikki and the Corvettes on the sugary tracks and hardcore elements on other tracks. The album contains ten original songs and one cover, "Kill Someone You Hate" by Red Kross. A vinyl EP released in late 2006 provided a preview of this great album, and received very good press from Maximum Rock `n' Roll, Now Wave, and the Austin Chronicle.

An Undiscovered Punk Masterpiece
First things first, this CD completely kills!!! I mean, like, totally screams in that old-school punk-rock tradition, yet, it doesn't copy any previous bands' sound. I can only equate their music to the Avengers played at 45rpm instead of 33rpm; fast, snotty and loud. The band's lead singer, Suzy Sparkle, rips through the eleven tracks on this CD with savage determination and total control; her voice is sharp and never vacillates. The music is a brilliant combination of power-pop and punk-rock and doesn't slow down until the last track (a wonderful cover of Red Kross' Kill Someone You Hate) ends. It's sad that more people don't know about this fantastic CD but what I really want to know is why am I the first one to write a review of it on Amazon? What's that all about? This CD has been out for six years and no one (not even a band member) has taken the time to write a review??? C'mon, this is great punk-rock CD!!!If you are a fan of Portland, Oregon's The Obituaries, Seattle, Washington's The Epoxies, or Los Angeles' Legal Weapon then you will absolutely fall in love with Austin, Texas' Sparkle Motion.Buy it now!!!
