I decided to try white tea for its multitude of health benefits, which are superior to darker teas, and most specifically for its light color, which I hope will help prevent future staining of my teeth. After researching all of my options, I chose Uncle Lee’s based upon the attractive savings in price for a 4-pack and the great reviews. After brewing my first cup, I can say that it is indeed a very tasty alternative to green and black teas. It’s lighter in color than the other teas, which will reduce the potential for staining my teeth, and it has a lovely light, smooth flavor that I now prefer over green and black teas. I’m a new fan of this product.

I drink all kinds of tea - cheap to expensive, blah blah blah. I've had white tea before from Tea Forte and I love their flavors. I went on healthy kick and got this specific brand and item, along with matcha tea and started drinking them every day - I don't know what is in this tea, but it makes me feel amazingly happy & just "better". Not drugged at all - just happy - and not from caffeine. I've given it to others who had colds, were feeling tired, etc. and they have experienced same. I KNOW how this sounds so I'm being honest - I don't know how or why - but I drink this almost every single day and I'm a coffee drinker. this tea is just amazing. I will put a teabag in my coffee - throw it in my water bottle, etc.

Have you ever tried Black Tea and thought darn why do people bother drinking tea? Have you ever wanted to taste something smooth and light yet flavorful similiar to Green Tea you may have tried at your grocery store? Well look no further this White Tea (Organic) is a great light hearted but bold tea. The flavor profile is somewhat complex but not heavy on your stomach/gut. Packed with natural antoxidants (polyphenols) and even vitamins from essential oils. The fact that you can brew a cup or two and drink before eating is great. I am a fan of Green Tea and I found out about "White Tea" and said I have to give it a chance. It's similiar to Green Tea's crisp and light refreshing effect. White Tea is less processed compared to Green Tea And Green Tea is less processed compared to Black Tea. Basically White Tea packs more healthy stuff yet having a great boldish flavor and aroma. Green Tea tends to have a vegetal flavor profile and some people maybe turned off by that. But White Tea has a nice unique aroma and flavor. It's almost hard to describe I'd say it's more close to "Earthy" / "Sweet" / "Fruity" etc. Like it's not just one thing it's a unique blend made from White Penoy leftovers. The batch I received of this Organic Tea matches up the flavor profile/aroma and even the color brewed it's "Shou Mei Tea" (a white tea). It's close to being inbetween White and Green tea but it's most definitely not green tea or black tea. I'd consider it White Tea. It has a unique flavor profile yet it's easy on your stomach. There is no "vegetal" taste like Green Tea. And it's not has heavy as Black Tea. I would buy another packet again when I run out/low. Give it a try. Also this bundle is a deal compared to other Shou Mei White Tea packs. Here is a brief description of Shou Mei: Shou mei, often translated longevity eyebrows, and sometimes spelled sow mee, is a type of Chinese white tea. Shou mei tends to be made out of larger, more mature leaves, and contains relatively fewer tips or leaf buds, although the portion of tips can vary considerably within this style. Although it is usually classified as a white tea, the brewed tea tends to be darker in color than most white teas, reflecting an increased level of oxidation. Shou mei is usually described as richer and bolder in comparison to other white teas. The flavor and aroma is sometimes described as more similar to that of oolong tea than other white teas. Shoumei is a white tea that is produced from naturally withered upper leaf and tips, with a stronger flavor reminiscent of lighter oolong teas. It is mostly grown in the Fujian Province or Guangxi Province in China. Because it is plucked later than Bai Mudan (White Penoy), the tea may be darker in color, but it should still have a proportionate green color. Some lower grades of Shou Mei may be golden in color with a lot of black and red leaves, making a darker brew with more depth.

I brew five bags to one half gallon pitcher. The flavor is mild, but not weak. I like it. Sometimes I mix with a little bit of Lemonade and it tastes like an Arnold Palmer/Sandy. I have also found (coincidentally) that I dropped about three pounds, while I just happened to be drinking 6-8 cups of this tea everyday over the course of a few weeks. I haven't changed any habits, but I sometimes feel like my energy levels are a little better since ingesting this tea. That is not a diet or fitness/health claim. It could just be a coincidence. There is not a lot of caffeine in this tea, and to put it in perspective I can brew two teabags for a stronger cup only one hour before my bedtime, and it does not keep me up/awake. Also, this price for four bags is fantastic. It's a lot (I mean, really the amount is tremendous). Lastly, this tea is mild on the stomach. If I drink regular black tea on an empty stomach (or Orange Pekoe tea) I will react as if I just drank ipecac (vomit-inducer). This tea is subtle, similar to green tea, but not bitter like green tea, yet with an equally strong flavor as green. Just make sure to steep properly to get the max out of the tea flavor.

I'm very happy with the tea. I notice the price moves around a lot with this tea brand. Just an FYI. The only other brand of White Tea I like equally is Prince of Peace White Tea, but it is more expensive and harder to find. This brand is as good and cheaper most of the time. Most people make White Tea incorrectly and complain of bitterness. DO NOT pour boiling water over these, or put a tea bag into just boiled water like black tea. That can make the tea bitter. The proper way to make White Tea is to heat the water to 170-180 degrees F, and put in the tea bag and steep for 5 minutes. But... there is another, easy way: If you have an 1100 watt microwave, which is the most common now, put exactly 1 cup of water in a glass container like a mason jar, put in the tea bag, put in the microwave & run for 2 minutes exactly on 100%, and let sit for 3 more minutes when done, remove the tea bag, and you have the perfect cup of white tea.
