There are swamp, water, rock, and land tiles to create and customize your own battlefield. An instruction booklet is provided to help you form the terrain. The pieces click easily into place and the landscape is limited only by your imagination. After you construct the terrain, it is time to form your army with warriors, aliens, acid, drones, and stingers, each with their own strengths. If parents wish to add to the set, expansion packs are available for purchase. Basic Game Play For years, the Marro have been summoned to Valhalla. Rumors are spreading that a hive of Marro predators is hidden deep within the jungle. Heroes unite to stop them from contaminating the world. The object of Heroscape is to create your own battlefield, choose your army, and war against your opponent for the land of Valhalla. Players alternate turns until the game ends. On your turn, you'll complete three actions, using dice and army cards. Strategy comes into play as you choose the best possible army card, which depends on the location of your figures and your victory objective. Kids can use one of the nine provided games or create their own. Battle Test Following the success of the original, Heroscape Master Set Two is likely to please any child into strategic gaming. Nine game scenarios are provided and kids can even create their own game. All intricately detailed and nicely painted, the miniature monsters have unique powers and background stories. Each game scenario encourages imagination and enhances strategic thinking. However, game play and setup is relatively complex and perhaps better suited for older or advanced children. It also comes with many small pieces, which could be hazardous to toddlers or infants. Despite these minor setbacks, Heroscape Master Set Two is as enjoyable as its predecessor.
