Great book for beginners
Bought this book for my nieces in middle school. This book is great even for an adult easy to follow, and the photos were very helpful! The recipes so far have turned out well. This is a book worth buying!

Amazing recipes with helpful photos!
I had bought this cookbook for my nephew's birthday. After checking out the recipes, I decided that I wanted a copy for myself. I love the step by step photos. I don't do a lot of baking and this was so helpful! There are so many amazing, delicious recipes in this book. My 16 year old son has also chosen several recipes that he wants to try.

Great book for baking with kids!
My granddaughter loves to bake and she was checking this book out from her school library over and over. Finally decided to just buy it for her for a Valentine gift. What a happy girl! She goes through and picks out different recipes for us to bake together...doesn't get much better than that!

Perfect gift for a beginning cook!!
This was a birthday gift for our 9 year old granddaughter. She had checked it out of the school library & carried it back & forth in her backpack for two weeks. Planning & dreaming what she would make. The directions & pictures are perfect for a child learning to cook!

Great Introduction to Baking
I purchased this book for two of my granddaughters, in another state, after seeing it at their cousins’ house. I was impressed how the book started out by showing the basics (ways of measuring and mixing terminology), the utensils, baking pans,… The book was delivered within a couple of days. The girls called to thank me and tell me the recipes they decided to try first.

All Goodness!!!
This is the first cake my 15 year old daughter has ever made and she did pretty well. Cheesecake from scratch. This book is literally the ABC's of baking. Its very detailed for our young beginner's and loaded with pictures. Every recipe not only specify cooking ingredients but also the utensils needed to execute the recipe. I think this is the start to something great. Her next cake will be a Carrot Cake.

Visually pleasing but actual recipes are not.
This book was purchased for our 11yo daughter. I immediately loved the step by step pictures and that it included recipes from various cultures and in various difficulties. That’s where the fun stops. I’m genuinely surprised by the many high reviews. In looking at them, many seem to be from gift givers and not parents who have actually tried them.We tried two basic recipes from the book. One of them had extra odd steps not usually found in such a basic recipe. There was also a glaring flaw. One of the step instructions called for adding a cup of water not listed in the ingredients. It doesn’t belong and ruined the whole thing. We started over and left that out. The rest of it went okay, but it’s definitely not one we will try again. I’ll look for other recipes of that genre for her. The other recipe we tried came out flat and odd looking. It was another basic recipe of a different kind. After seeing how it came out I looked at other recipes of that kind online. They all were relatively the same as each other, but different from the one in this book.At this point I’m not inclined to have my daughter keep working from this book. She’d get more benefit from working through other unillustrated recipes with her mom and grandmothers and taking her own pictures along the way to make her own photo recipe book to work from.

10 year old LOVES it. Photos of every step of the recipes.
My 10 year old got into baking in lockdown, and chose this book as a reward for a great attitude in home schooling. It is an excellent book for tweens and teens as it shows a coloured picture for every step of the bake. It is so easy to follow. Most bakes use 2 pages and there are 10+ photos of the steps for each recipe. Very easy to follow - she doesn't need any help from me at all apart from lifting in and out of the oven, for safety reasons. She has made lots of the recipes in the book, including fruit crumble, biscuits, flapjacks, citrus cake, gingerbread men, triple layer chocolate cake, and cupcakes. Each recipe has a difficulty rating.Every recipe she has made has turned out perfectly and looks like the photo. We have a Neff fan oven and we find we have to reduce the baking time by a few minutes compared to the recipe's suggested baking time.

Very good book for baking good things, first time.
ALthough destined for adolescents, this books is using recipes that are real, and use the art of baking properly and so are fine for kids of all ages, however adults needed for younger ones. Danish pastry for example, well explained, good recipe, very good results. Not a single recipe in there is bad (I have done some 20 or so) and most are outstanding. No Kiddy stuff - vast amounts of sugar and sprinkles everywhere, just the real deal with proper ingredients.Recommended.

Fantastic book
I got this for my 13 year old daughter who has recently discovered a love for baking. This book is brilliant it has lots of recipes for cakes, tarts, bread, pastries, meringues etc. There are pictures so they can see what it's meant to look like and the recipes and ste by step instructions are easy to follow and it allows her to cook independently.
