Outstanding Perspective
Thoughtful and useful on the topic of the application of technology to warfare. The author's discussion of the RMA, its adherents, and its critics, is excellent.

Insightful
This is an in depth study of the effect of technology on War. Not sure I like the writing style, Black seems to use a lot of words to make a quite obvious point that could have been made more succinctly. This seems to be revisiting and expanding a theme explored by Black in Is There Still a West?: The Future of the Atlantic Alliance edited by William Anthony Hay, Harvey Sicherman (University of Missouri Press). Fair enough but I thought it odd that he in at least one [place uses exavtly the same words as used in the earlier article.Despite these reservations I feel this is a useful treatment of the subject.
