Nice, short and sweet
The book was cute, honest, short, sweet and something that I really enjoyed reading. In the end I really wished it would keep going. Definitely a short and quick read but I really liked the pace of the story line, not all that rushed, and the honesty of the characters. If there is a second book I'll probably buy and read that too.

A perfect change
This is a great way to wake up from a nap on a plane and a really great to be introduced to N.Y.

Well Written
I have purchased a number of these gender-swap stories and this one is my favorite. There is a little sex in this one, but it is really about finding the character's hearts desire. Loved it!

Magic, but I'm surprisingly OK with it
I don't usually like trans stories that use magic to effect the transformation. This author made it work, though, well enough for me to suspend my disbelief and keep reading. The plot is a pretty normal love story. But this is a skilled author who knows how short stories work (the form is a long-ish short story). The three characters are well-drawn and people I'd like to meet. There's enough description to add color, yet it's still very much a "show, don't tell" style. Even the sketched-out setting is true to the Brooklyn I know and love. Well worth a read.

Nice time for a switch
This is the second book that I've read by Alyson Belle and both have been enjoyable and well-written. In this one, Tom McCallister is in bad shape after losing his job and his girlfriend. He decides to take a flight to visit his best friend Lyla in New York City. He realizes not only is she his best friend but he's madly in love with her. The only problem, as he laments to the women sitting next to him on the flight, is that his friend is a lesbian. The woman must have some special powers as after a nap on the plane, Tom wakes up only to realize he's become a woman. Maybe now he can get the girl he loves so much.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Not A Transgender Book But Still Hilarious!
While not exactly a transgender story like I how I initially thought, I did noticed some elements of gender dysphoria with the protagonist that kind of hit me close to home as a transwoman who is also lesbian myself. I also like how the author often uses the concept of a male who did not understand his level of privilege until he gets turned into a female. Many transwomen share similar experiences before and after coming out to live authentically (save for the fact that there's the dysphoria for us not experienced by cisgender people). But goddam Jess is SO lucky, the fact that she got magicked from a cismale body into a cisfemale body, something that's not possible for me in real life. And of course, the confusions on Lyra's part as well as that entire airport scene got me laughing like crazy!
