Will not play in US. Don't buy.
A disc that has been coded as "Region 2" can only be played on equipment manufactured in Europe (which is where Region 2 discs are made). If you live in another part of the world (the United States is an example, which is Region 1), you can't immediately put your disc in your DVD player and have it play.

Buyer beware
The seller didn't disclose that I would not be able to watch this formatted version on my new Blu Ray player. My intention had been to donate the DVD to the local library for other patrons to also enjoy, but it's useless to me and others. I need to return the item to the UK. This takes "Buyer beware" to a whole new level.

A wondrous entertaining "discovery"
As I have previously indicated on this board, my "discovery" of this very fine British spy thriller began with Season seven (7), After becoming completely besotted with this BBC series I started procuring the seasons that lead up to season seven (7) and now I am at Season six(6) of this great series. Season six (6) on five (5) discs with ten (10) episodes entertained me greatly. Season six (6), is filled with loads of breathtaking tense dramas, and lots of "high tech" wizardry, that I love.I am "hooked" on the MI-5 spy thriller series and I will continue to purchase future seasons.

MI-5 Continues to Amaze, with Exciting and Thought-Provoking Episodes
By the start of Season Six, the BBC's "MI-5" has thoroughly established itself as one of the world's premier drama shows. The previous five seasons have woven drama, intrigue, excitement, and intelligent storytelling together in a manner rarely seen in television, and each Season has seen us wonder how the enterprise could possible maintain such an accomplishment, yet is only to out-do itself again the following year. Season Six follows that same trajectory accomplishment, and without giving any spoilers, we can say that the series takes a darker and more sinister tone at various points that are perhaps some of the most intense in the series six year track. It can be argued that Season Six is one of the strongest of an already incredibly strong series of Seasons.MI-5, in case you are unfamiliar with the show, is a section of the security service in the UK that addresses domestic threats. The threats can be of any nature--terrorist, economic, public disturbance, and many others--but these categories of threats are those that are deemed a threat to national security and safety, and MI-5 is called upon to monitor, track, and intervene to address them. The "MI-5" television show attempts to tell a dramatized version of this branch of the security services by allowing us to see the individuals who choose to join "5" and are often unexpectedly impacted by the requirements of the job as they seek to keep the public safety. The episodes usually deal with one specific threat and 5's response to it, yet many episodes are woven together into a larger, more long running story that encompasses many episodes, sometimes, an entire season. That's why "MI-5" is best watched in episode-by-episode order, starting with Season One.In Season Six, the Section D team of MI-5 is faced with a extra-national threat that brings the entire service into situations both complex and ill-defined, with lots of judgment call decisions, intense risk taking, and the requirement to juggle internal security with political and national demands. In Season Six we see some of the most extended sequences yet, with a story line that weaves a chain from episode to episode throughout the entire Season. It's almost impossible to stop at the end of any given episode: the viewer finds that the pull of the story and the surrounding drama almost demands that the next episode be viewed immediately afterward.MI-5 is intense, dramatic, powerful, intelligent, and gorgeously filmed and acted. It is certainly one of the best shows the BBC has ever put together, a premier offering among an admittedly excellent grouping of shows already made by them. The series helps us to think upon the issues surrounding intelligence and security in a country, and the intersections between liberty and safety with which any free country must deal. It's a superb exercise in filmmaking. The Seasons: MI-5, Volume 1 MI-5, Volume 2 MI-5, Volume 3 MI-5, Volume 4 MI-5: Volume 5 MI-5, Volume 6 MI-5, Volume 7 MI-5: Volume 8 Mi-5: Volume 9 Volume 10 not yet released (Dec 2011)

MI-5, still alive!
Another great season of the best show on TV. It's clear the Brits know how to make great drama series for TV, with the added bonus of being able to see them in their uncut version here on the DVDs. Seeing them uncut makes a huge difference in being able to follow the storyline. Plus, the quality of the packaging and of the DVD's themselves continues to be excellent. Looking forward to completing the series when I get my income tax refund back (I hope).

I love this series so much
I love this series so much, you never really know where they're oging with things until they get there. Besides all that, Rupert is adorable and very strong yet vulnerable female agents too. Great over all show. The only problem I had was that the last disc had about 30 minutes that was unwatchable because it would skip and freeze, it's the DVD not the player.

Terrific characters and never ending action and suspense.
Way above in quality over your usual 'action' movies. Complex and interesting characters, smart, attractive and sometimes flawed. No resemblance to bland American soap operas with uniformly bland personalities. Politicians (and Americans) portrayed in unflattering style. Powerful women. This is a superb series and once you are engaged, you have many seasons and many episodes to entertain you.

It’s hard to keep up
I know ... I know! Giving an incredible series like this a 3 is utter sacrilege. And yes, the series is brilliant. Fast moving episodes, massive plot lines and a great cast. It’s a huge feather in the BBC’s cap to produce drama with each episode being like a feature film. So why the 3?Well, I have loved each series just a little less each time. I struggle to follow the complicated plots or even understand how they get resolved. And I do try hard. I also find the incredibly elaborate way M15 work is almost impossible to believe: it seems amazing that only 4 of them save the planet every week. And I vastly prefer the home based plots. But my main reason for the 3 is that the plots are incredibly bloody and gory and I often have to look away. Working in that unit is beyond dangerous and tantamount to suicidal. And finally I think the cast are starting to phone it in. They look as bored and confused by the plots as me. And they haven’t quite gelled like the earlier casts. I am not sure the current line up works brilliantly together.Soo - it’s brilliant and very well made but I am not enjoying the hard to follow plots and over complicated storylines. Plus the gore. I’d like an episode I can get to grips with. And I think the cast is bored.

Definitely Re-watchable Over time
Having watched and enjoyed all 10 series of "Spooks" as I have, you're left with that glum feeling of "What ~ no more ?"Well, I'm pleased to say 2-3 years later I can watch them all fresh again having totally forgotten most of the complex plot lines and denouements. Series 6 is no exception, highly addictive, very realistic, offering both sides of the arguments for both "good guys" and "bad guys" and the blurry lines between. I don't think I could ever watch James Bond films again having lived through this far more realistic kitchen sink, warts and sores, unglamorous presentation of working for Her Majesty's Secret Service where agents are shown to be as fallible as anyone else yet constantly using ingenuity and duplicity to counter equally ingenious and duplicitous terrorists and even other country's ingenious and duplicitous security agencies. It would be nice to see a prequel series produced maybe showing the early Cold War life of Harry Pearce that made him the high flyer he is today, just as "Endeavour" did for "Morse".

Great series
I never saw Spooks when it first aired years ago as I was either going out or whatever so I saw the odd episode on Freeview not so long ago but with all the ghastly advert breaks (it must have been a joy to see on BBC where it first aired with no breaks..) so I have brought all the complete series now, one at a time, via Amazon. I find them very plausible, no realistic might be a better word and considering the news events since this series ended on TV - which we get to know about - perhaps too true to real life events in the real world. If ever there was time to bring back a series, it’s Spooks - great stories, writing and acting. Sadly missed but live on via DVD’s.

Great service; recommended
Fast service from the UK. We live in California (USA) and can't get SPOOKS anywhere else.Love the series esp. since the new HBO series "Succession" features Matthew Macfadyen in a completely different role. Was really sad to see him leave SPOOKS but very happy that he's back in "Succession."The British really do have the BEST actors in the English speaking world! What we also love about SPOOKS are their production values. Each episode is like a good film with great sound and music.

The compulsive viewing of Britain's spy drama series of Spooks.
As I mentioned in my previous two reviews of Spooks Series Four and Series Five this is a good watch because it delivers its viewers to another entertaining and explosive story which is strengthened by great acting from the stars of the show Rupert Penry Jones and Hermione Norris. Although this show is in its sixth series it shows on sign of slowing down -this is television drama at the top of its game providing relevant and shocking entertainment. In this sixth series MI5 under the command of group leader Harry Pearce ( who is played by the brilliant Peter Firth) tackles international disputes and the race against time to stop Iran and the United States bringing World War Three into the UK. The best moment of the series is the return of former ally Juliet Shaw whose character is taken into a new shocking but much darker direction. Although the series-long story arc may suggest that writers are running out of ideas series six has done more than enough to guarantee a couple more series.Thank you Amazon.co.uk. Feel free to read my other reviews. Four stars!
