Fantastic, I love this thing!!!
I misplaced my old non-collapsable shoe horn while I was deer hunting. And I'm glad I did! I love this shoe horn. I was surprised by the number of one-star reviews though. All of them seemed to be baffled by the spring. The spring is an important part of this shoe horn. With a handle this long you'd be falling over with how far you'd have to lean back to get the horn in place and reach down and back to use the horn. I find it a dream to use. I'm 6'2" and for some reason, I always have trouble with the back of left shoe collapsing. I've used a shorter shoe horn for quite some time (about 14 inches long). But this one has that one beat hands down. Even with my height. I don't have to bend or lean at all. The spring at the end of the shoe horn helps a lot because even though the horn itself is at an angle to start. The handle can flex at the spring. And I don't have to lean or bend. It's great! I don't understand why so many people report problems because of the spring. I'm guessing they're shoving it too far under their foot. You can't put it under your foot up to your toes. But you can get your shoe on with ease. And it's far easier to travel with. It's collapsed length makes it easy to pack in very nearly any bag you might carry. And it's strong. My old fixed length plastic was always a hassle. And I was always worried I was going to break it while on the road while trying to get it to fit in a bag. I've tried to abuse this thing. And it can take it. The handle is more than strong enough.

A great purchase - you owe it to yourself to consider this product.
Good for finally able to stand UP straight when putting tight shoes on. The blade is very thin (as it should) and flexible (as it should). This allows for minimum wedge between your foot and the shoe (which is already very tight). Being able to stand up and do this really helps with the lower back, neck, and so on. I would not use a short shoe horn having to bend over and whatnot, anymore. Having tried this, I have to say that you owe it to yourself to buy an expandable, long-handled, thin-bladed, metal/steel durable shoe horn. There are other sellers with other products similar to this. To be honest, this product is slightly cheaper made in material and craft--but not by much. I own another shoe horn about twice as expensive as this one and, yes, I can detect the difference between the two, but not enough to pay $twice the amount. Thus I am giving it a 5-star review for: Performance, Expectation, and Low Cost.

Its ok
What I like is that it extends enough to make it easy to use without having to bend so much when my back is hurting. What I do not like the spring between the rod and spoon of the horn itself. Its too flexible and that makes it more difficult to use. I also have trouble getting it to lock at the length that I extend it to. Otherwise, its good enough and better than what I had which was nothing.

Spring is too ' springy' , but gets the job done
Going to chime in. Shoe Horn works somewhat as expected. I already have one with a similar design that has a slightly larger, more stiffer spring. It makes all the difference in the world. So I wanted to have two, one for the bedroom and the other for by the front door. With this product the spring makes it difficult to use, unless you position it EXACTLY where your heel needs to be placed within the shoe and then pull it upward. The locking feature works well and adjusts to the correct size. I would have loved to get the one which I already own as it is perfect. ( bought it at a retail store, no idea as to who the maker is ). This one does okay, but would be improved with a stiffer spring.

Works well.
Some reviewers have stated that the handle will not stay extended. I experienced this *before* I realized that the sections "click" into place with a spring loaded bearing. Ensure that if the sections don't click into place that you rotate it so that the hole and the bearing match up. You should get a nice click when it has seated and it should then take much more force to collapse during use. Once the handle is secure this device is easy to use and I use it every day. I even bought a second one as my wife puts her shoes on in a different location and kept 'borrowing' it causing me to have to retrieve it.

Makes putting shoes on without sitting down easy
I have been using one of these for several years now and would not like to have to do without it. Having one means no more having to sit down or kneel and use your fingers to prevent bending or crushing the backs of your shoes.

THIS DOES NOT LOCK! Danger for Older People with Instability issues.
This is a dangerous shoe horn for older people with instability issues. It caused a 95 year old man to fall because it does not lock properly. The locking mechanism is not what is shown on the pictures that when we bought. This locking mechanism doesn't lock in place. When you push down on the shoe horn to put on your shoes it will collapse. It is a danger to older people (and perhaps unsuspecting younger people as well). Do not purchase if you actually expect it to lock. VERY DANGEROUS! The only good part about it is the spring at the bottom. It bend it allows is nice and provides an easy angle to apply into shoes. But I'm taking it away from my Dad, so he doesn't fall again. I would return it but we are two days past the return period. Beware of this device, if you situation mimics ours where there is instability. $19+ right down the drain.

Extendable shoehorn it is what it is
It's well crafted long enough to use without bending and I'm 6"2. But at its core its a shoehorn on a stick. Nothing ground breaking. If you pick it up under $20 or so its a bargin. You can feel it will last if kids don't sword fight with it. If you have balance or mobility issues this might be just the thing to help slip a shoe on without as much effort.

Klare Empfehlung !

Good sturdy product. Might improve the extension locking mechanism. Occasionally collapses but is only an annoyance. Otherwise works well.
