Geometry Tchr. Activity Kit Gr. 6-12

I bought this book as I am tutoring a student in geometry. This book has a different approach than most of the geometry books I have reviewed which gives me different materials to work with. This book is definitely hands-on and very tactile learning. My student has worked on a number of the sheets and he seems to be learning a lot.My student tried the tangrams and found them to be very difficult. I gave him the "cheat" sheet which was included. This is a very good tactile/spatial exercise!

I don't see this book as an activities kit. It is more of a workbook meant to review geometry skills and concepts.Bad points:* The work required to complete the activities (or worksheets) doesn't focus on the rigor of geometry.* If you're a high school or middle school teacher, some of the activities may be too simple.Good points:* There are teaching notes and answer keys for each activity.* The work for each activity is of average difficulty--maybe 15-20 minutes for students to complete on their own.So if you don't know what to have students do while you're out sick, this book has many ideas. You might even use an activity from this book.* Since there are more than 100+ activities , this book does a good job of covering the whole scope of geometry--excluding proof. There are even suggestions on research you can assign your students.* The authors did a good job of making geometry concepts relevant to students--like relating parallel lines and perpendicular lines to numbers and text, angles to formations of hands on a clock, etc.If you're a new geometry teacher, you'll get many ideas on what to teach and how to teach geometry.If you're a seasoned geometry teacher (10+ years), it might be a good idea to pass on this book.

This book is loaded with lots of single page copyable activities for Geometry class. Any Geometry teacher's best friend! Wide variety of topics and types of activities are covered.

Wish it had more activities for High school level Geo. Love the angle chasing problems. Like the synopsis of notes needed at the top of the page.

Good activity book but there were pages torn out of it when I go it.

There are some great activities in this book. However there are not as many for the middle grade as I would like.

The resource didn't necessarily fit my teaching style, but it has some good activities.

Great ideas and activities. I have used it several times all ready. The students were able to build a deeper understanding of the concept being taught.
