But it worked find and you can unplug it and leave in the glove box that way no one can break in and take it. From looking at the picture I had expected the "wire" running between the charger and the iPod cradle to be ... floppy, I guess would be the word. I was worried about where in my console I would stash the iPod so that I could access the controls without crashing. I haven't seen any other FM tuners in action, so maybe this is standard, but the "wire" is actually very thick and stiff. Once it's plugged in, you just bend in in whatever direction/orientation you wish (it's really quite flexible) and it supports the iPod independently. I have it snuggled right up close to the console just to the right of my hand when I'm driving and it's perfect! I had some trouble figuring out how to get the presets set, but then I read the manual. (LOL) It does take several clicks to change from one preset to another, so I won't feel comfortable doing it when I drive for a little while yet - I'm sure once I've done it enough I'll be able to do it by feel. My only complaint is that for some reason it seems to reset to a specific channel whenever I take the iPod out and put it back in, so I had to make that the channel I always keep my radio on. Fortunately it's a clear one. For someone in a more populated area (I live in central Maine), this might be a problem. Overall, this is a GREAT piece of equipment. No matter how many adjustments I made, every time I hit a bump in the road it disconnected. And the controls on the player never worked, from day one.
