Everyone should have some of these!
It has been a long winter with snow falling, melting, and freezing over and over again. I fell last week on a patch of ice I didn't see through the new snow, nothing broken, but I'm getting older and that stopped me for a few days! My 2 large dogs still needed walking though. I found these and ordered them, got them yesterday and headed out for a walk. We walked for 3 hours! It was wonderful! I couldn't make myself slip on the ice, they grip like crazy. I wish I had bought them 10 years ago! They are easy to slip on and off my boots too, so I don't have to worry about gouging my wooden deck.

For shoes not boots
This looks exactly what I need when wearing shoes. I take a size 13 and it did stretch to cover my shoes. I also have a pair of boots that I like to wear and I am sure this will not work well on them. I just moved to a city and live off of some steep downtown sidewalks that are almost 45 degree declines and I have three of them to converse walking to and from my parking garage. And I have a knee problem at present and really need something that will hold me in place. I would describe the product as aggressive as they cannot be worn inside without damaging tile, linoleum or wood floors. But I am looking at concrete and asphalt , so they will be very appropriate. As I wear them on ice covered side walks, I will update my experience with you.

Fell right off my feet
I bought these stupid things for a weekend trip to the mountains during a snow storm. I was nervous about falling in the snow and ice. When we got up the mountain, we were going into the grocery store and the parking lot was in bad shape. I put these on over my boots and gently got out of the car. Once I got on the inside of the store, I told my hubby how good they worked. Then I looked down and my feet and neither one was there. I looked out the window of the store and there they were, right next to the car. Those damn things didn't even stay on for one step.

Spikes are located where they need to be.
These are excellent spikes. The Toe and Heel spikes are perfectly centered on the Ball and Heel of the shoe making for a good bite into Ice, and with the Velcro strap they don't come off should you snag a spike on something other than Snow or Ice. I have another brand of spikes, an even knowing they are the correct size for my shoe or boot the Toe spikes are poorly located and the heel spikes are at the end of my arch instead of centered front to rear on the heel of the shoe or boot causing less bite in Ice and slippage from the heel spikes pressing into the arch of my shoe or boot and not having a good bite depth into the Ice or Snow.J.D.

What ice
Used the ice cleats on a trip to Norway. One of the first stops on the trip the viewing area was covered with ice. Most of the group didn't get off the bus because of the ice and those that did gripped on to anything they could so they would not all and several still fell, luckily no one got hurt only some bruised egos and butts. First time I used mine, easy to put on, tried them on before leaving for the trip, I walked anywhere I wanted, yes cautiously, got all my views and pictures of the area. When we go to a shopping area about 75% of the group bought ice cleats for about three time what I paid.Value for the money, yes, plus no bruises.

Feel the grip!
I have only needed them once so far, but they were a HUGE help! I actually felt the grip on the icy snow. The construction is good, and they have a firm stretch to fit a few sizes. The cleats are in a variety of positions for gripping. Something I hadn't considered. I ordered the set with optional over the foot straps just in case. They even have a bag for off-season storage. I'm a senior, and these are like preventive medicine in winter months.

Fits overshoes
Previous set lasted over 15 years before spikes wore down and really provided slip free walking. Am hoping these do the same. Everything looks the same

Best $18 I've ever spent
I live out in the hills of Tennessee, where it rains almost everyday and the mud is as slippery as ice. After years of continuous slip and falls on my property while taking care of my animals, this little gadget was finally the thing that solved the problem. I can carry the feed buckets up and down the wet hills, and I am 100% stable on my feet. Not even one little slip.I haven't tried them for any long-distance hiking so I can't vouch for that, but working around the farm in slippery mud they are absolutely phenomenal.
