Big messy problem.
Huge problem with this item. I've ordered this item a few times. When I open the package, everytime, without exception, the ink has leaked all over. Sad, because I really wanted this item.

Don't waste your time.
This is definitely an unimpressive ink. It is not very wet (aka, will have flow problems), and it dries out much much too quickly. While I tried this ink in not the best pen, there were some specifically ink related problems. This would dry out in less than a day, even with keeping the pen capped when not writing. My other ink would have no issues for days of non-use, but this ink just wouldn't work.I can't talk about the color much, because while it is a decent black if you can write with it undiluted, I regularly had to run the pen nib under water to get it to flow again, which diluted the ink, so it ended up more of a grey.Just overall, don't waste your time with this ink. Just go buy another brand and actually enjoy your writing.

Pretty good
I've bought these cartridges several times and I'm pretty pleased with them. in this last set, two of the blue cartridges leaked slightly, but it wasn't bad. The little bead thing that regulates the flow of ink was on the outside of the cartridge on both of those, but I used them anyway - the beads got pushed in when I screwed in the nib and they were fine. The ink colors, to me, have a really pretty effect, sort of matte and aged-looking, not the brilliant colors of some of the other inks I've purchased (this may depend on paper choice too). The only think I don't like about these is that the yellow ink is so light that it's unreadable on white paper. I give the yellow ones to my son and he uses them for invisible ink. The cartridges are opaque so you can't really tell how much ink is left when you're using them; it's a minor annoyance because you can kind of figure out how much is in them by shaking the pen and listening to the bead inside. One thing I really like about them is that each cartridge contains a lot of ink. When I use the speed ball cartridges I feel like I'm constantly changing them, but these last a long time. All in all, they aren't perfect but I still really like them and they're the cartridges I come back to when I need a new supply.

Rich, Dark, Wet Ink - Travels Well
These are definitely my favorite ink cartridges. The ink comes out wet, viscous, and rich. There is good color to the ink, and it doesn't fade into the page: stays dark and saturated after it dries.I've never had a clogging or drying problem with the ink (well, unless I leave my pen uncapped for a couple of minutes without using it, obvi.) But I've written pages and pages and pages, smoothly with no issues. As for transit: I normally dislike plastic packaging, but the sturdy plastic container they ship in means that the cartridges got to me without any damage, extra points for that.Definitely my go to from here on out.

Completely unusable
I took a chance on these despite the bad reviews, and i wish I'd spent a little more on a better product. The ink does not flow AT ALL, no matter what trick I try. Attempting to get the ink to flow did somehow cause the cartridge to leak all over my hands, however. From the stain on my fingers it does appear to be a pretty color, but after 20 minutes of trying I gave up. I'll never buy this brand again. The Jinhao ones are just as cheap, and work well unlike these.

Waiting for the ink to flow
The fountain pen I have for which I bought these cartridges is a Wordsworth & Black. At the time I received the black cartridges sold by Thornton's Luxury Goods, the existing cartridge in the pen was nearly empty of its blue ink. [However, I cannot recall the brand of that blue ink.] After removing the blue ink cartridge, I then cleaned the nib carefully and thoroughly in order to insert the new black cartridge. When the ink didn't flow as I tried to write, I removed the cartridge and then inserted it again.Tapping the nib... gently shaking... etc. In short, I'm still trying to determine the problem.

Nice colors, fragile cartridge, can't see how much ink there is
The good news: The inks have nice colors, flow nicely, and cover well. The bad news: These should be labeled as "washable" ink. Do NOT use this ink on anything you want to last even a few days. ABSOLUTELY do not use it to address envelopes; if a postal worker has a bit of sweat on his hands, the writing will disappear.Addition: The cartridges are opaque. You do not have a clue as to how much ink is left.Addition 2: If the pen is having trouble starting, the old trick of squeezing the cartridge is VERY likely to result in a broken cartridge; the material is not flexible.
