Fast, quite, dependable computer
I like HP computers and have purchased them in the past. This is the first one I bought that has a SSD instead of a hard-drive. I also prefer AMD processors and this one's Ryzen 5 processor is FAST. I like HP's Support Assistant. The only feature I would change is the "Laptop style" pop-out CD\DVD drive. I much prefer the horizontal style CD\DVD drive that has a button to eject the drive. However, this is a really nice, fast desktop computer.

Very Satisfied With This Computer
My 5-6 year old tower was getting so slow that I decided it was time to upgrade. I decided that 12GB RAM was a good choice (I understand that Win 10 needs more than years ago versions). I liked the idea of a quick SSD drive to complement a typical hard disk I have the programs on the SSD and easily have room for Docs as well. So I have gone from a PowerPoint file startup (including the software) taking 30-40 secs on the old, cheap tower to this machine taking less than 3 secs. Some additional points:- Some have critiqued the keyboard and (wired) mouse provided. I agree and just used my old, heftier Dell keyboard and my optical mouse. It recognized both and worked on initial startup.- Documentation gets 1 star. A dumb diagram is not any help and the only online manual is generic. No place did I find a diagram of the back connection points.- I have never bothered to use OneDrive, which comes on automatically and syncs with the C: Drive (for Docs, Pics, Video, etc. It took me a while to figure out the file hierarchy; e.g., the difference between Docs showing up under OneDrive, plus the normal Docs folder(s). Digging in, as I also use a laptop, I have figured out how it works and can have a common Docs set on both PCs through the OneDrive folders, which sync beautifully. I will like this. You can put non-sync items on the D: hard drive.- I have a VGA monitor that I am happy enough with for now. Nowhere could I find out whether the back had just HDMI output or both VGA and HDMI. It has both (so I returned the $8 adapter that I ordered).- It will come down to reliability, With 2-3 ratings, it is hard to predict. Similar but older Pavilion tower models have a fair amount of low ratings (more than I would like) but it all comes down to the luck with my particular machine.- I saw this a couple months ago and was wavering. It was $559, then $700+, back to $559, now $600+. Confusing. At the $559 price is seems a well priced unit with all the SSD I need, far more HHD than I need, a recent model I5 processor, etc. I can recommend it, presuming it will continue to behave well.- Very easy to set up.

Good computer for the price
While this is definitely not a gaming computer, it is powerful enough for a graphics-intensive workplace. I purchased this for a user that needed to run Adobe graphics programs, and it has performed excellently. The SSD ensures fast boot-up, and good performance for all applications. I would recommend this as a great office computer, but look elsewhere for a gaming computer.

Quiet and fast. Want more memory though
For my regular PC usage, nothing to complain. Quiet and fast enough.Only the thing is, standard 12GB memory was not enough for the stock trading platform I am using It failed once. Glad it did not happen while I was trading.

Was easy to move files from old machine to this one
I use this for general purposes ---pictures, documents, email. After an easy transfer from my old computer to this one, it was only a matter of time to obtain the programs I need and to install them. Have only been using this for a short time but do not have any problems.

Linux driver not working for Wifi/Bluetooth
I like this computer, EXCEPT:The info on Amazon had no picture of the back of the computer. There is no working wifi/bluetooth driver for Linux Mint/Ubuntu. I was able to get bluetooth functional by using a bluetooth usb and telling the system not to use the one that didn't work. That also disabled wifi but this is a desktop. A usb wifi does work.HP was no help. HP used to be Linux-friendly. Since the wifi/bluetooth worked in Windows, HP said tough luck with Linux. After using Linux Mint for almost 10 years on many machines, this is the first time it has failed on a driver.Since I have found workarounds for the wifi/bluetooth issues, I like the basic qualities of this computer and will keep it. It is a very fast desktop.
